Show me your water/meth setups on the 5vz-fe

Thanks for the info! Do you know what size injector you are using?
My main reason for doing it would be to lower sc and air temps.

I think the 2004 injectors are 250 or 260 flow rate, the meth injection nozzle I think was the smallest one

   I used to run methanol injection in my turbocharged VW VR6 GTI. In the Florida summer heat, running 16lbs of boost and making hard pulls the aluminum intake manifold would be cool to the touch. The same engine NA would have that intake manifold hot enough to fry an egg. We compared engine logs to a friend with the same engine setup but a large intercooler and our temps were within 5-10° throughout the whole range. Pure water worked well enough to keep things running, but mixing in pure methanol with it was much better.

Added a total of 2100 miles now with the Snow progressive methanol kit on and all is perfect, not a ping to be had with my new 2" pulley, had to refill with my first gallon of boost juice after 1700 miles, kit only sprays at 4-5 pounds of boost and up, so it's pretty conservative unless I am really getting on the pedal. So the windshield reservoir is a perfect spot for the boost juice, keeps the engine bay nice and clean looking

 

That kit seems pretty good. I wonder how it compares to say aquamist kits? or AEM

 

Don't know, but I'm sold on mine, couldnt be happier, wish I knew about these kits years ago so I could
have had a 2" pulley and no heat soaked issues, live and learn
I finally found my sweet spot power wise for my truck with this setup for power and reliability

hello, just a couple of questions, so im running my 98 3.4 all stock with a 2nd gen charger, dam thing gets really hot, so im going to throw in a stage 1 or 2 snow performance

so installing, i just tap into the intake tube? it doesnt squirt right into the throttle body?
do i also need to tune it at all which i have not done but recently purchased a urd timing calibrator
and for the gas i use costco premium which is 91 octane, is that fine?

Hello, all you need is the progressive snow kit 495.00, you can look at my photos to where my pump and nozzle is installed in my build photos, I used the windshield tank for the boost juice, you tap into the Intake tube. You probably will use the smallest spray nozzle and will have to setup the start spray
around 4-5 pounds of boost on the adjustable controller, you should use a AIR FUEL GUAGE to
setup the system to make sure your tuning it correctly. Boost juice is 49 percent methanol.
91 octane is fine, the methonal kit if you use the boost juice will raise octane to 110-115 octane.
Also installed a low fluid level guage and a light that shows when the system is spraying

With the kit do you think it would be ok to run a 2.1 pulley ?

 

One gallon it is stock
Should be just fine with a 2.1, the methonal kit will fit all your ping issues and will help with heat.
Just make sure you get the system installed and tuned correctly for it to be effective.
It's a pretty slick system for the money when setup.

This is about what u can expect at with the system 6000 feet with perfect AFR
About 245 hp at rear wheel and 270 torque at rear wheel at only 2300 rpms(nice torque numbers at a low rpm)

 

Do you know how much HP you gained just from the meth kit by itself?

 

I don't really know but I do know is I can run a 2 inch pulley with perfect AFR and before I was not able to even consider it so that added a boost and a half which would probably be 20 hp I'm guessing

 

im a little worried running as small as a 2.1 though, might lean out suuper harder,texas has a 7th plus the meth. ill test it out though, wont hurt to try.

 

You can try,should be ok and work, I don't have a 7th injector or piggy back and I have a 2" pulley at 9 pounds with NO issue at 6000 feet
