Map info

Just had my Nav system updated on my 2016 Tacoma entune system. when on a freeway map splits in two and on right of screen it shows the next couple of exits ahead, miles away,etc. It did this when I first got truck but I was able to stop that so it would just show map full screen, I find it distracting. But for the life of me I can not figure out how to stop it now, is there anybody out there that can tell me how to do this? I have tried a number of different ways and nothing seems to work.

 

When the navigation screen is up, hit "options", then select "map mode", then pick the layout you want.

 

I have tried that and picked full screen layout and then when I get on freeway as I said map splits in two with upcoming exits on right and that is in text not an image , I have tried pretty much every option and it still does same thing, I am sure i am missing something but i can not figure it out

 

I'm with you on this. I've been looking for away and have been unsuccessful.

 

interesting. Mine only shows the split map at upcoming intersections or off ramps if I touch the screen right before the turn or exit. I assumed to show you if there was more than one lane to make the exit or turn in. It never does it automatically. No idea how to change the settings. Kinda like the Eco app. When I first got the truck it would update automatically. Now I have to do it manually and can't figure how to get it back to doing it automatically.

 

Weird. I don't remember my nav screen ever changing by itself. Does it only happen if you have a destination punched in?

 

Are the exits that are being enlarged (on the split) something it thinks you are supposed to be following?

That's how my Garmin works. Get close to an exit to take and the details blow up in size showing the lane(s) you need to be in. Even if it's not an exit from expressway to surface streets, but an exit from expressway to expressway.

 

no it does it with destination punched in or not. Heads up too, I tried to use Toyota Owners website update but file is corrupted which was confirmed by Toyota Owner website and my dealer, had to dive an hour to dealer for update, thats %^&$ed up. Dealer told me Toyota is working with Entune manufacturer to make updates accessible to public when available which would be nice. Still no closer to figuring out how to fix screen.

I can only choose from the first three 4through 7 are not available for me to choose I can see them but they are not high lighted for me to choose

 

Not sure on this, but when driving are they highlighted? Some options only available when certain criteria is met, like moving on road.

 

No I will check tomorrow while driving but I have selected map only so why is it my screen shows like I have selected 5

 

I know @BlakeM post works, I've done it myself. But I was on freeway when doing it.
