No you're fine to leave the tube locked. Just have to unlock the hubs as normal.

Would the axels spin all the time with the tube locked? Or does it work that way with manual hub tubes too?

If you have manual hubs and the hubs are unlocked nothing spins. Whole point of them.

If you have add hubs then you can not lock the tub permanently. Or the diff will spin all the time. Won't really hurt anything but kinda defeats the point.

Now if you have manual hubs and leave them locked, the diff will again spin all the time. Not really hurting anything again..but not ideal. However I did this as in the winter my hubs would get frozen over and you could never either get it in 4wd or out anyways. Just more rotating mass so your mpg take a hit and your spinning the front diff for no reason kind of adding wear to it (but so what, rear is always working).

    If that makes sense.

You don't NEED a manual diff tube for manual hubs.

Oh okay. So if I leave the stock 4Runner vacuum actuated ADD differential as is (just engaged permanently) and the manual hubs unlocked, nothing will spin at all, just to confirm?

I just want to make sure locking the ADD permanently won't have any adverse affect or extra wear or anything.

Correct. Lock the tub. Cap off the vacuum tubes. You're good to go to use as manual hubs.

Ah, alright. How exactly do I go about locking it? Something about a 'c' clip I think. I couldn't find anything on it.

Went back to stock exhaust, capped up deckplate, added Toyota chrome exhaust tip.IMG_0283.jpg
Love not having the Flowmaster growl & sucking sound of the deckplate mod. It was fun while it lasted, but now, the quite sound of silence is much more appealing.

    Thank you!
I like the design too. I have their front bumper too. Love the design. If you do get one, Just make sure you have a good welder to do the work. My experience was a nightmare.

Thanks! I'd be doing the welding myself haha, I also had a bad experience with a welder so i decided to learn myself. Do you by chance have any pictures of the back of the bumper? Thanks.
