My Tacoma saved my life and my daughter's life today!

Riding down the interstate at 75 mph and I see a line of cars about to merge on. So I move into the fast lane and keep on my way. Dumbass that just merged on the interstate decided he was going to go ahead and pass everybody by jumping into the fast lane... Right where my truck is! I laid on the horn and had to swerve into the grass median going ~70ish!!!

Truck got a little squirrely, and I had to do a little drifting, but she kept all 4 on the ground! I'm just glad the grass wasn't wet, it was flat, and there wasn't a guard rail!

Top it off the jackass didn't even slow down or stop!!!

The little one and I were pretty shaken up and she bumped her head on something in the backseat, but it could've been much worse! After avoiding the car, I thought the truck was going to flip when I hit the grass going so fast... Especially when the backend started kicking out!

    Any damage to the truck?

Not that I saw... We got back on the road and stopped at the next exit and I checked the front suspension and tires. I didn't see anything that stood out.

I'm sure it probably got knocked out of alignment at the very least. And probably a few rock dings on the paint from getting slung up at 70mph.

I'm doing my F/R diff and transfer case oil and greasing the driveshaft tomorrow, so I'll check everything a little better then.

    Appreciate it!

No dash cam, but I've been looking at them for over a year now... May be time to pull the trigger!

I debated trying to chase the jackass down... But decided that wouldn't be setting a good example for the 11 year old in the back lol!

Was gonna post a Q about wheel finishes but saw this and have to say:
Glad you all are safe - regardless of vehicle, circumstance or anything else. I don't wish anyone here ill will so walking away from a bad thing is a win to me.

I hope the little one says something like:
"AWESOME! Do it again Dad!" if there's ever a next time for that level of "excitement".

Hey Bubs - what primer and prep did you use?
I've wire wheeled mine and scuffed the corrosion off but I need to strip the clear coat off then prime and paint.

    I'm going for a 10' finish...

It's not too bad really, hardest part of this was fishing wires. Door panel comes off, three bolts holding on the mirror, unplug wires, then pop out the glass and you're inside. Full breakdown inside here.

You will not be disappointed. Seal them with silicone tho. Had some good rain come down not long after install and I saw some minor condensation build up
