Whatever works! 5100's were way better than stock, my Fox's were better than that, then the shackle flip made it ride rough, and the Kings smoothed it out. Should ride like butter after the reflip. Also, the back will drop 1-1/2 to 2".

It's not that my springs are a limiting factor, since I get roughly 12" of travel at the spring (not the wheel), it's that the location of the lower shock mount is too high. Once it's lowered, I'll have the same bump travel as stock, and more droop than stock. At a ride height that is only +/- 2" above stock. At least that's the goal.

Using longer shocks with stock mounts means you're trading down travel for bump travel. Have to add bump stop spacers or bottom out the shocks. Fuck it though, they're Billies! ;)

Alcan left, Dakar right. About 1-1/2 more droop. Yeah my spare was crooked.

Just checked out your build thread. Looks great. ADS & Kings.
I had 5100's on my truck for 4 of the 7 years I've owned it. They were fine and did the job. The stupid shit started not coincidentally at the same time I became more active on TW. Should have skipped it all and went straight to Kings. With the TW discount from DSM, the difference in cost wasn't that much from my Fox setup with 700# King springs. About $300, not including the BAMF shock relocate. The new SPC's were about the same price as the used Camburg UCA's.

Yeah, I fucked up, but I'm good now.

    Hi everyone,
Is there someone in the South Bay who would be willing to help me with 3 small welds on an aluminum front skid plate? Quality is a bitch...

Should not be more than 30 minutes.
    Thanks, Anton !

Are there any close by dirt roads within an hour of San Jose? Nothing too difficult just not paved. Back in Utah we had that stuff everywhere. One good close one was barely out of the city and up the mountain to a radio tower.

Maybe an hour max outside of San Jose. My wife is out of town and I have nothing to do. I figured maybe try out my new setup on some easy dirt. :D

Half way correct. I say adjusting bump stops because we set them at my uncles ranch on a hill that was not accurate at all. His tractor couldn't handle. Now need to give more clearance and cut the fenders,:sawzall:
