I'll probably do that for a choice few easy to ship things, but I am running short on time so packing and shipping isn't exactly an easy detour for me with my work schedule. You around tomorrow BTW?

All done! And here are the old ones. They actually were in great shape for 200k... the driver's side grease was a caramel color, and the ball looks great. The passenger side was more black in color and you can see the ball was starting to show scratches. The pickle fork destroyed the boots on both of them, so they're both trash now, just thought I'd show them off. FYI, the new oem ones came with a castle nut, cotter pin and 4 new bolts, so nI need to order extra bolts... I guess now I have 8 bolts, just in case lol.

Sure feels nice to get that off my chest, though. Now I can drive with peace of mind :)

Yes, I think I spent an hour on the first one and 30 min on the second one...
The first one took longer because apparently I tried to do things out of order, and I also spend a bunch of time jacking around with a pitman puller, trying to line it up and get it to fit without destroying the old one. I finally said, screw it, and took a pickle fork to it, came out very quickly after that.

Sweet, would love the welding help if you're still down, gonna be working on the truck all day. I was going to pick up a roll of Lincoln NR-211-MP .035 on my way home from work today if you think that's good for this application.

You should be fine. All that space is just for abs tone ring to have clearance to spin so as long as it is unobstructed and the seal can still do its job then there shouldn't be a problem. May be a good idea just to knock off the edge as already mentioned

    Stuff. Also things.
I have a couple electrical questions for the experts out there.

    • What is the current requirement for the stock fuse block in the engine compartment for my 2002?
    • Does the fuse block in the dash get power from the one in the engine compartment?
I'm asking because I'm getting ready to set up a dual battery system and I want the battery in the engine bay to only service the starter and my winch. I'll have a house battery to power up the stock fuse blocks and any future circuits.

    Thanks!

Question for the hive mind- a few days ago I struggled to get my truck into 3rd gear. I felt resistance and when it did go in, it popped out easily. Next day it shifted like normal. Then today same issue. It feels like I should be able to push the shift lever higher up but there's no room, if that makes sense. No slipping gears, clutch feels normal. Where should I start?
