Sorry if this is in another thread. I'm in the middle of installing my lift now and adjusting the Fox 2.5s for 2.5" of desired lift after it settles.

What measurements have you guys preset your coils at? I adjusted mine to 2 and 9/10" (based on a build thread I follow) thread and it seems like a lot. Like too much a lot. Any feedback is appreciated before I lower this thing back down.

Guarantee you are over 50% down travel there and that's no bueno for the shock. You'll coil bind before full compression and top out shock before coil uncompresses.

If you need it compressed that far you need a heavier 14" spring.

For reference, in my build thread, post 314 has a pic. it may help.

Worst case, call Fox and they will tell you, something like 8 turns is either 1" or 2", I cant remember (4 turns of the black top ring = 1"..???)

From what I know they come from factory with 1in of lift for the 2016+ Tacoma, so count the treads and double I would think. My kit comes in this coming week but I got the extended travel 2.5s.

We'll see how it goes. These are the extended travel 2.5s. Luckily my wheels don't come in until next week so if it's too stiff or higher than I'm comfortable with I'll adjust them down at that time.

If this particular spring didn't settle then yes you would be way high probably over 24.5" mid hub to fender. But once they settle, it'll be all good. You could always wind them down a bit then when they settle crank them back up to your liking.
I can almost guarantee that my ride is better than most lifts. Absolutely loving my Fox kit. If you need absolute max travel than you can always get a 14" spring and have less preload on the spring. These 13" springs that come with the fox kit seem to have no response to how much load you put on them. The ride has been great no matter where the load is at. Perhaps they were actually designed properly and actually allow a full 2.5" of lift without compromising ride quality. Imagine that.

Subbed. Curious about how your truck ends up looking on the fox setup too

one simple phone call to FOX would end the debate. I called them for the exact same thing when I installed mine. They are super cool and easy to work with. . .

This way you don't damage your new expensive shocks. . . .

Isn't the fox factory preset set at 1" of lift and so if you want a total of 2.5" of lift, just add another 1.5" of thread. Since you've already made the adjustment, I would suggest to bring it back down to about 2" of thread showing and go from there.

    4 threads = .25" lift on a fox 600# spring.

As an example. 14" 700# on my truck.

    IMG_3096.jpg

And height. And I have skids / sliders / bumper.

    IMG_3097.jpg

And the truck is pretty well level

So 4 black spacers came in the same bag as the sway bar drop kit but they don't seem necessary. Anyone know what they're for?

Also have two black rubber washers... not sure if they came in the bag or not. I just noticed them as the last things sitting where I unboxed all the parts.

Little over 24" all around from mid hub to fender so you're spot on.

    Thumbs up.
When my truck first came out it was perfect. But it slowly started to rake forward. Soon it'll settle and you'll want to crank them up a bit because OCD. At least that's what happened to me.

Wheels are coming in on Tuesday. After the lift settles I'll adjust as necessary. So far the ride is great.

Thats way to much lift on a stock vehicle either thats not 600 lb springs or you pushing your suspension to 4-4.5" lift. Also saw through the thread that you measured 24" all around?! The front should only measure 23" from center of hub to bottom of fender for a 3" lift. Also the 3rd gen tacomas came with a 1" lift over 2nd gens so you will actually only net 2" from stock.
