Installed my TRD aluminum skid guard. I think these guards get a bad rap. They are way more robust than the stock TRD Off-Road tin "splash guards". The other difference is they bolt right to the structure of the front frame and bumper components with stand-offs and welded nuts as opposed to the stock splash guards that mount to small threaded tabs on the undercarriage. I would argue the TRD skid guard probably increases the strength of the whole front end by a small amount based on how it mounts.

Anyways.......I'm sure it doesn't compare to a 1/4 steel guard, but it is certainly worlds better than what came stock on my TRD OR.

I painted mine dark machinery grey to tone it down a little.

Well added the TRD pro skid plate. Really looked at other skid plates but for an aluminum plate, it's not really that much more than other after market (RCI... etc) skid plates (especially with shipping). I think it looks nice too and of course, was designed for this truck. A bit of a pain to put in but half the fun is figuring out what bolts to remove. Only hard part was holding it in place by myself. While I was down there I noticed those tiny little stock Bilstein shocks. How they don't snap like twigs amazes me.

Also, added the covercraft sunshade. Spendy but the fit is worth it.

    I love my truck!!!!!!
