My local dealer has it for $340 which is still steep. At least it has a powder coat finish. All the good brands are over $400 painted or powder coated. That Is a lot for a street truck.

6'3" here as well. It kinda broke my heart when I test drove the tech package and realized I needed to downgrade to fit!

Hey guys, I'm not wanting to start a new thread but does anyone recall any good LED headlight threads or just a quick recommendation or two? My dims are just not cuttin it but maybe being in the late 40s has something to do with it but I need more light.
Nice! Does your Covercraft fit well around the GoPro mount?

I don't know if I would say it fits around it. The visors are needed to hold the shade in place and they don't push it all the way to the glass unless you put some kind of spacer in-between the visors and the shade. Even then, the mount doesn't really affect the sunshade fit.

As for the leds most don't work well in projector headlights like ours, get a set of hid's and you will be happy, I have a set of kensun's in mine got them from Amazon, they were pretty cheap and I've used them in alot of vehicles and have had minimal issues, when I have their customer service has been awesome. There are some new leds on amazon I've see that are same length as halogen bulb to make the projector work as designed but I've not used them or know if anyone is running them.

Ditto on LED headlights in our stock housings. I studied LED's a lot and the consensus is HID or halogens. LED have no throw and stocks put out better light.

Altogether not that long, pulling apart the steering wheel probably took the longest...I'd say maybe a half hour for everything. And I installed it with the fog light stalk not a switch. Looks OEM that way.

Wow, I just noticed that only part of my message posted! Oh well. Yeah, I would just like to have a much better halogen or preferably an HID but admit this is not an area of expertise for me. I do know I need more light and just want to plug it in and use it with no mods.

I want to do this but I think I'd rather put the switch like in the 2nd Gen's, because I'm hesitant to pull steering wheel off. Plus I'd like to add a light bar and put that switch beside fog switch. BTW have you done intermittent wiper mod too?

If you can change a bulb you can install hid's, the hardest part is mounting the ballasts, which I put double sided tape on and put under little covers on sides of fender that just pop off, wires were just long enough. It's honestly plug and play, plug factory connector into wire leading to ballast and plug two separate wires into bulb and your done, if they don't come on, unhook factory to ballast connector and turn it 180 degrees and it will 99% of time work, hid ballasts are polarity specific, meaning they need positive and negative connected a certain way, where regular bulbs do not.

You do you, I just wanted the stalk because it looked cleaner IMO. The wiper mod hasn't happened yet but it will, just have to decide when to spend the cash on the part

I agree it looks cleaner, and I worry that I won't be able to get switches that match the illumination, which will drive me nuts. But I just don't think I'm confident enough to tackle the steering wheel removal.
I haven't decided on intermittent wipers, I haven't driven in rain much since I bought my truck so idk how much it'll bug me.

I like HID lights but some 3rd gen owners with HID's had warranty arguments from the dealers. I would rather wait to get past the warranty before putting them in. I do wish they made a plug and play LED that would have good output. Went through the LED trials with my stock fog lights. Just could not get any distance out of them even though they were bright as hell. Just put a small light bar under your grill. If you are rural in Alabama that would give you a ton of extra light. I am in the city so that's a no go for me.
