Got a price on a 2008 Taco from local Toyota dealer: AC V6 Auto Prerunner with SR5 package, 18k miles for $20,500 OTD. It is silver, alloy wheels, tow hitch, clean carfax and certified 100k warranty... Would you do it?

Even with the Toyota certified warranty? What would you pay? I may be able to work a deal as it is the end of the month, but I dunno. Edmunds lists $21k for "certified" retail...

Maybe so, but it is impossible to find one with low mileage. That, and the folks selling 1st gens seem to think they are made of gold with the prices I've seen...

3" lift, full stereo system with 2 amps and sub behind the rear seat.
If the truck is in great condition - the 20.5 K out the door with 100K warranty is a good deal. This means you are paying around 18K and getting the warranty for free. Go for it! These trucks are the best - I am on my 3rd Tacoma.

I gave $21,332 + TT&L for mine brand new. Mine is a four banger manual, but still has the SR5 package, drop hitch, tint, etc.

Edmunds TMV (True Market Value) has proven to be pretty useful.

It says, for my area, for the truck you mention with auto trans:

    Private Party: 19,380
    Dealer: 21,049
    Cert. Used: 22,167

Sounds like they're being pretty straight-up with you.

That would force them into a Tundra. That incentive is not offered on the Tacoma.

Okay so your truck, while new, was at least 3k more OTD and without a 100k warranty, not getting the comparison.

I think it was decent, especially since they were going to give me 2k for my beater Nissan truck with 184k miles and power nothing, heheh.

winkkle8, sounds like you snagged a good one, I'll keep that in mind if I see another one.
