That's a lot. I recently Spent over 200 on a bottle of blue label. It was great. but you can get great whiskeys for about 50-60 bucks.

I picked up a toasted cask years ago. Made a mix of everclear watered down with well water to 120 or so if I remember correctly. And experimented from there. Pure grain alcohol is damn near nonhangoverish. The higher the proof the better for you. Just water it down.
Now I get toasted chips, cubes and whatnot from different suppliers to make my own but definitely has to have heavy roasted coffee beans.

I had bought a blue label for them last year

    Any other recommendations?

I prefer Bulleit frontier whiskey for the taste. There are others around the 50 dollar range. Basil hayden comes to mind. Though I haven't tried it yet.

Well if they are scotch drinkers then i think you should stick with a good scotch . There is a difference between scotch and bourbon.

I agree with others. Cost isn't everything.

18 years is prime for whiskey. So find a good label and find something in that range.

The Japanese makes some world class stuff too. A lot people don't buy it so maybe your friends might enjoy some.
