Yeah I won't be cutting as much as he did haha he cut out the blinkers under the headlights and all, im leaving those and a slightly different front bumper.

Just a temp setup! Goes in for the 3 link mid october so this is bare minimum just to run the 40's on the street. My old tires were so cracked and leaking, I can actually drive it now.

speaking of cracked tires. I took a closer look and both my rear tires are cracked in a few places on the sidewalls. I get new tires tomorrow. Would you recommend I still sell the old tires with the sidewall cracks? Brian you saw what tread was left recently.

if anyone else is running 285/75/16 MTR's they may be good for spares.

wonder if my cracks came from airing down so much all the time. I constantly did 10psi during the life of the tires.

maybe it's not that big of a deal? I've never experienced this before. You know, I was an offroad newb when I joined this site.

hmm.. Kind of looks like those are from rocks? I know mine were just old and weathered because it was a spiderweb of cracks. Doesn't hurt to put them on CL and see? What size tires you going with next?

same size MTR's. I have an unused spare that I'm going to keep in the rotation this time. I just can't regear and do 35's yet. I'm getting prequalified for a home loan right now and need to do the right thing. I recently came into some money and I could upgrade front bumper but waiting on that too.

Maybe I'll never regear and do 35's. Would be fun to build up a solid axle rig just for the trail. Or get a RZR!

Look into the Nitto Trail grapplers. Mine are really quiet, rated as good/if not better than MTR's, and cheaper. Andrew is going to switch to the same Nitto's I have from MTR's

I already have MTR's ordered and paid for. I was also looking at Cooper STT PRO. I'll keep the Nitto's in mind for the future though.

Discount tire is great. I lost two center caps on my wheels and they are giving me replacements for free.

My Cooper mtps where $60 less per tire vs the stt pro. I went with 285s in LR-E. Haven't had any issues with them yet over 10kmiles sitting around 13/32nds and 14/32nds across all 4.

Mine look very similar. I think it has something to do with airing down and then doing 40 on somewhat harsh forest roads.

Nah, those are cuts from big rocks. My wife hit a nasty pothole that pinched her tire between the wheel and ground leaving a good gash. Manager at discount said that on today's tires, if there are no threads showing, don't worry about it.

Considering his job is to sell tires, I believe him.

Those look like cuts not cracks from age. I seal those with RTV Silicone if I get them in my tires so water can't get in. Airing down is said to make sidewall cuts less likely.

So I might be able to score a set of 4 Cooper 37s, not sure which model, but likely MT, not STT. They aren't new, but still some tread left. $75 in Tacoma.
