I had something similar happen when i took off my bedside decals. The decals had flat-spotted the clear coat; Meguiars compound and polish fixed it up.

 

They probably put the badging on before the clear coat cured

how did you remove them?
Just dental floss behind them or did you heat it as well?

If you used a heat gun you might have used too much heat and damaged the clear coat.
If no heat it might be something from the chemicals you used to remove the residue.

Not sure what else to say, mine came off easy with some fishing line and mild heat gun

 

Is your truck dirty? I can see dirty streaks running down the side of the door. WASH the truck, then use a quality wax on that area. Should clear that up, i had the same "issue" on my truck. At the very most it may need to be buffed.

 

Could be true, however . . . The badging goes on at the same time in the process every day. It's dry/cured, or it's not. What comes off clean on a black truck may not on a white truck. Pay your money and take your chances. Not Toyota's fault.

Plenty of people remove badges doing methods they see on youtube like with the heat gun and dental floss and over heat it and fuck up the clear coat. Why would the dealer cover it?

Warranty is for manufacturer defects, not shit you screw up.

Best bet for OP is bring it to a body shop and see if they can fix it.

you tried taking it off, they'll say it was your method.


try something like scratch doctor or a polishing compound see if you can blend it. I'd say try by hand before taking a DA polisher as you may end up burning the clear coat if you push too hard.

Try by hand then put a coat of collinite super double coat over it.

That happens usually from an invisible residue left behind on the paint. You need to buff it well to get it off. Not just using goo gone or whatever.

Clay bar might work but I never tried it. I just had mine buffed for free

You can tell because water will often bead up differently over that specific area when it’s wet.

 

Agree, your dealer is going to tell you to POUND SAND.

Don’t set your expectations high.

At best, if you’re a good customer, they might be willing to buff it out for free.
