getting rid of it.... I have no idea how to maintain said pool.... it's kind of an eyesore to me..... the previous owner also put it against the fucking house for some reason. haha

so I gave the pool to someone in my neighborhood w/ the stipulation that I drain it, they come and break it down and haul it away.

That's good that they fit without modification. Making mine fit wasn't hard. It was just a PITA because they were supposed to be bolt-on.

lol if it was in the back of the yard / at a low drainage point, I actually probably would have tied a tow rope to the Tacoma and pulled it down and had someone surf / boogie the wave! hahaha

I can check for you, but i know that demello changed up their design for the fogs a couple years after i bought mine. So it might not be the same as yours.

So what exactly are you trying to accomplish with your truck? With the lift and rack system you have a pretty sweet setup. That has the ability to haul and Offroad with kayaks, canoes RTT etc. If you sell The rack you need a shell and a rack on the shell to achieve what you had with the rack plus you gain waterproof storage with the shell. I wouldn't worry about the powder coat or scratches as that's what happens when you use the truck. You can always repaint with Bedliner. I'm sure kbvoodoo will try to amend any issues but the real question is does the rack meet your needs like you thought?

Did you get the right ones? Should have been easy 3 bolts? Don't see it changing much between your year and mine for second gen?

I ordered 2nd gen brackets. None of the other brackets they sell look anything like them, so it's unlikely they sent me the wrong ones. From talking to @Coot83, it sounds like I'm not the only one that has had issues. He said his passenger bracket only lined up on 2 holes.

nice! I love shorty bottles like that....

no particular reason I prefer short things....:anonymous:

I reached out to them and got an email back already.... nothing specific yet, but he said we will take care of our problem.... so we'll see what happens from here...

Overall, I like the rack, but I need something that's going to hold up.... if it's a one off issue, and they fix it.... I have zero complaints.

If they tell me to kick rocks, I may look into selling it.... or sanding it down and bedlining it.

solid looking lineup! I'm debating on swapping over to Makers Mark since I have some steaks marinating now to toss on the grill...

now if I just had a cigar...........

oh! @boogie3478 How did you mount your off road base? I need some ideas.

did you use a wingnut for quick access? did you use the center hole or use some of the side holes?

I just used one of the pre-existing side holes and ran a bolt with a large washer through the center hole on the base, attaching with a nylock nut on the other side. Wing nuts tend to loosen up from the vibes from driving. I'll have my tools with me any time I go offroad if I need to remove the nylock nut.

awesome... I havent had an issue w/ my wingnuts at all (although I often walk by and check to make sure they are tight still) and thats a solid idea. what size bolt did you use?

I bought the Tractor Supply brand base called "Bulldog" and it has a hole in the middle, but they filled it in in case you didnt want to use it... should only take a second or 2 w/ my drill to punch it out

side note.... I popped my first top w/ my @At The Helm bed stiffeners.... I gotta say.... these things are awesome. I love the extra tie downs... and my cb antenna will be mounted later this week....

@fatfurious2 you routed your coax under the truck, along the frame and up through a drain hole right? how did you get through the bed? exit at the tailgate? or drill a hole through a cubby? or how?

@boogie3478 .... you wouldnt want to give me one of those bolts for the RAM mounts would ya??? I'm thinking since this is the CB antenna I got:

I might be able to just fit the CB on a ram mount..... thoughts???

there is a space next to the tail light.. oh wait, that is for a different mount.

I just drilled a hole next to the bed cubby. You could probably come out under the rail, or somewhere else. To me, it didnt matter that I drilled an extra hole.
