I did it! It was a real b**** to get off let me say that...peeled, used goo gone, and then cleaned up after. Didn’t need or want a heat gun. Helped with the windows down, and to pull the window molding back.

Almost a year under the sun and no visible paint fade either!!

I think it looks better without, even though there’s no going back now!

Well done. Looks tough. That truck means business now. No more prancing around with a fake "coupe window look". Love it. Bravo.

I kinda like the Vinyl on mine as a Tree Branch scratched that area up, rather the Vinyl take the beating versus the paint.

Well, I am assuming Toyota software Engineers also dislike the B-Pillar Vinyl. The only other option is that my dash icon changed when I stripped mine off! o_O. Look close.

Looks like pulling it off throws the pitch off on the truck

Looks to me like he was pulling to high of a G during a dive, which peeled off the vinyl in the graphic. Simple physics really, I'm surprised it's even being discussed...

My truck was built in August so it is still fresh. It took maybe 15 minutes to pull both sides and clean up any errant residue.

I'm thinking of putting a double layer back on the passenger side to correct the "Bro Lean"

removing that does not mess with the widnow seals / create extra noise? Just reading the previous comments and others have said they need to lift up the window seal around the pillar. Does the seal just go back into place?

It will not and the vinyl will peel out from under the seal without having to lift it any at all. It's only under the seal about 1/8 inch. I did mine on a very hot day so the vinyl stretched while coming off vs. breaking.

Removing the B-pillar vinyl does not mess with the window seals. The vinyl pulls out from under the seals without removing them. Just go slow and use heat, and patience.

In my experience, the matte vinyl is soft and looks cheap after it gets scratched to hell by feathers, cosmic rays, and light breezes. The paint underneath is much more durable, and doesn’t show trail damage as readily. Just my opinion.

Ultimately, the choice is mostly one of style. I like it better without, but it’s a toss up. I might have left it in place if it didn’t look like an afterthought from Toyota, with no “border” if you know what I mean.

I'm gonna chime in and say as a 2011 second gen owner, the paint on the door in that location starts to chip real bad. So I'm on the other end of the spectrum and will be adding vinyl next week lol. I'd be curious to know if you 3rd gen guys are starting to experience this?

Can’t decide which I like more, but keeping mine on.

Check out this custom B-Pillar vinyl for some people’s taste although I don’t think it’s mind blowing like the title says. I know a lot of guys are into customs decals.
