So I'm interested in getting a pair of slotted ebc rotors but not sure on the pads. Whats the difference between the red, yellow, and green stuff. Ive done research but cant find anything too promising. Please help out. Thanks for y'alls info.
I go to the beach once a month, light off roading. What should I get?20170823_183022.jpg

The greens are the bottom of the charts as far as performance is concerned (compared to the other colors) but I've found they work perfectly for the Tacoma or any other daily driver. I see no reason to go to the yellows and especially the reds unless you had an x runner you where tracking. The greens provide good as OEM braking power overall IMO and have a more progressive feel. Which is nice because again IMO the OEM pads are grabby. For the record I paired the Green pads with some Brembo blank rotors and I am 100% happy compared to stock. Mine where pretty noisy the first couple hundred miles though (squeaks).

I wish we could go back to the days & wooden spoke wheels & leather straps for brakes. Stopping in a controlled & safe manner is for wussies anyway :p

If I read the charts right on the ebc website... the red pads have about another 100 degrees operating range above the greens and the yellows another 200 degrees. The yellows and reds also apparently produce less dust. From what I can tell the greens are roughly an oem comparison. Red and Yellow take it a step further. I suppose maybe if your riding the brakes while carrying heavy loads down steep grates then maybe that sort of thing might come into play but I'm no engineer... I just go by what the pretty charts say xD

I run yellow with regular oem rotors but I do mountain driving/towing. For flat land with no towing I'd go green with oem rotors. Ive never used drilled or slotted rotors but they don't seem to have a good following for a dd rig from what I have read.

I purchased the EBC yellow pads and their non slotted or drilled rotors. After a few days of off roading in the mountain, I "warped" the factory set up. I haven't had a problem with the EBC set up with about 10,000 miles on them. Somewhere on TW, there's a guy with a coupon code for auto anything. I could be wrong about that though.
    I would buy them again.

I went with green, with slotted, and drilled disk 40,000 miles ago, and I Love them. I hurd from several people that the yellows dust up terrible.
