    Try it now so you're prepared for the problems it will cause. It may change your mind to do it down there.

    Better to ask what I have not done.
    Side question, did you get the yorktown tool roll from atlas46 or just the normal one like mine? Im debating between and bag or that for the truck to hold tools in

    Got the yorktown tool bag i like it. holds everything i need. bought the 20 wrench roll up too.

    Socket holders do fit but you have to bend it right. Might be easy just to cut them in half i might do this.

    Don't bring your feelers to the forum. THe joke was on you thinking that a snorkel would turn your truck into a submarine.

    Yorktown, I just moved 75% of my tools from a Canvas tool bag to the roll.

    I cut the last 2 unused places off and it fits fine in the Yorktown tool roll.

    @09BlueBeast

    Do not think a Snorkel will give you more then the stock fording depth for any extended period of time. Major electronics sit right at floor level in your cabin and will stall your truck once they get wet. You would have to do a full cabin seal in order to do the depths you are talking about. Most of us with snorkels are just disco bitches right now and only use them for short crossing with the occasional hood splash over.

    I have personally repaired 2 FJ cruisers with snorkels that, while the engine was fine, has major electrical failures due to water crossings. Both insurance companies were thinking of totaling those $25k valued vehicles.

    Cody (@09BlueBeast ), I think folks here are just trying to prevent you from making a bigger mistake and costing you your truck. I took part in Katrina Rescue with CO Nat'l Guard and nothing for this but Helicopters and Boats. Also keep in mind the Police should have the roads closed, Lack of Fuel to purchase and so forth.

    I don't need to drive miles at a time in feet of water but I need to be able to forge 4 feet or so on low spots

    I'm no stranger to catastrophe. I'm a lineman and have been deployed to Katrina, Sandy, the Windsor tornado, major forest fires here, and a hand full of other ice storms. I've seen complete destruction first hand. I had no intention of making light of your situation. I understand you are in desperate need right now. Good luck to you and your family.
