PSA: don't use vise grips to pry on they will slip and fly off and hit you in the face, and you will need stitches. But I had safety glasses on so that's what matters. Won't post pictures. Don't know how squeamish you guys are

Trying to help a buddy change his cv axles out and the passenger side went alright. It's a Chevy cobalt and it has stub shafts which is held in by retaining ring. Well the passenger side it came out all in one and could easily transfer to the new shaft, but the driver side didn't so I threw a pair of vise grips and pry bar on there to try to get the stub shaft out but I had my foot on pry bar to trying to pop it out but this point I think it's seized and boom the vise grips pop off and hit me in the face.

:itllbuffout: could have been worse. At least your ok.

Got a few more things done one the truck for the trip to TN this week.

Bed stiffeners are installed. Love the tie down spots they provide and I was also able to leave the bed's d-rings out and repurpose them by using a reg bolt that was provided. Best pics I could get since it was dark before I remembered to take the pics.

Re purposed the beds D-Rings and added them to the backseats seat belt bolts for Teq's lead across the backseat. Thanks to the lead ideal from @hoarder23's setup.Knots were added to keep the pup from trying to jump out the window. Little guy is fearless sometimes.(the lead will be on top of his hammock thats being washed and having additional tie downs added so he hopefully cant get under it.)

Finally not truck related Teq has destroyed his first stuffed animal that the rescue gave me from his litters kennel. RIP donkey, Teq loved tearing you apart.

Were those bed lights added after you bought the truck? I almost added them when I bought the truck, but figured the cab bed light was bright enough.

Weather may affect my plans of camping, but still going for Saturday regardless of rain. Worst case I leave when the trails close at 10 and use the drive home in the rain to help clean some of the mud off the truck.

Those were installed at the factory/port prior to delivery to the dealer. I dont think they are very good. The light gets blocked by everything when loaded with camping gear. the LED strips people run seem to do a better job.

I really like these. Anyone seen any for 1st gens? I know we don't really need the extra stiffness but the tie down point should would be really nice
