28.9 MPG going 75MPH

I was under the impression that cruising at 75mph without touching the throttle (and cruise control) meant;
-slight downhill and/or
-following behind a larger vehicle and/or
-tailwind

 

I was on flat ground going 75 for 25 minutes. no gas no break needed...its called cruise control buddy!

I live in the country on a ranch...I drive to work in the city. But inbetween before I17 is a flat road

 

You don't even have the cruise control system turned on in your original photo

You are right! I always cruise that country as its flat as can be and 30 mins to drive. I do go through City of Mayer and it has a slower MPH. Plus sometimes drivers do weird things and I stop cruise to be safe. But I always cruise and this has to be known I did cruise to make this.

You didn't have you foot on the gas and you didn't have cruise engaged or turned on when you took the photo. You were going downhill

MrZ believe what you may. if cruise isn't engaged my foot is always pressing gas as there are hills I showed my fiance who knows this path and country...he was amazed by what our trucks can do!

God all I wanted to do what share the really amazing MPG from my truck. Because I am on a Tacoma website. Thought youd be happy. Apparently not. Sceptics and attitudes aren't my gig guys

 

If you were going downhill i think this number would be possible. On flat level ground at 75mph...i don't see it happening based on everything I've seen here from other posters fuel economy reports and what these trucks are capable of...maybe it is more downhill than you thought originally?
