Well had the cab mount chop and the alignment tab upgrades done yesterday and noticed that my proforged LCA ball joint boot was pressed up from the lca hanging. Tried to fix it and the boot popped off altogether and now it won't go back on. Proforged doesn't seem to sell boots for these and I don't think I'll be able to save the arm since the proforged ball joints are such a tight fit they took material out as they went in. Sucks - I just rebuilt the damned thing too. Currently driving around with the boot just sitting there to help seal it up as much as possible. I'm going to pump grease in there today when I get to the shop.

Fix one thing and another thing breaks.

    Morning all. Happy Monday...

Still haven't gotten my truck back from Ford. Either their parts department is horrible at ordering modules or there's something else wrong with it. On the plus side, they did upgrade my loaner to a '17 F150 because I bitched at them about how if I'd wanted to drive a tiny economy car I'd have bought one on the first place.

Lol. It's all good. He had just mentioned he needed a module and I thought you were poking fun at him for needing a windshield. I'm a bit loopy this morning

Oh - missed that part! Monday morning :frusty:

And on that note, after already being at work for 3 hours, I am off to the gym!

What engine / transmission does the 17 have? Just curious if you got the new 10 speed and what power plant is hooked to it.

No, but that's another fun story. I did have the cracked windshield that had to be replaced. That was replaced on a Thursday, and the tech that replaced it boogered the leading edge on my headliner while he was doing it. He showed up to repair it, I unlocked the truck for him and went back to work. Two hours later I hadn't heard anything from him so I went out to check on his progress and he was gone. New windshield was in place, but I found this:

He put 5 or 6 separate cuts into the headliner while he was pulling the old windshield, somehow. So I grabbed these pictures, called the glass company in a really great mood (sarcasm) and told them that I was emailing them pictures of installation damage that their tech had done and that they could either order me a new headliner from Ford and schedule an installation, or that I could do it myself.

And then on Friday (very next day) the headlights wouldn't turn on. Then they would, but not the fog lights. Then not the passenger fog light. Then the driver's headlight stopped working but the passenger light worked. Then they swapped. Then I couldn't get them to turn off. Called Ford and said that I was bringing it in, and dropped it off on Saturday. They've had it ever since. They initially thought it was the headlight switch (I told them that I didn't think so because of how erratic the lights were) but they ordered one in anyway and installed it, which didn't solve the problem. Then they decided on a module, and so far they've gotten the wrong module shipped in from Ford twice

No, my loaner is a 2.7/6 speed.
It's actually almost exactly my truck, but with a couple fewer options. Blue Jeans, supercab, 2.7EB. But no bed lights, mirror spotlights or puddle lamps, no trailer brake controller (but it has the backup assist knob thingy instead) and it has carpet on the floor instead of vinyl

I don't understand how they put the trailer backup assist knob on a truck and no brake controller

At least you're in a truck again. Driving the econo-box would drive me nuts.

I'm still determined to get things done. Of course my 8 project day may have turned into a 1 project day.

I'm at least getting use of my Netflix again while I'm staying up feeding her.

    LOL

I just had someone ask me to roll down the windows and talk about my truck yesterday while I was waiting for my wife to run into Walmart yesterday. The guy had an FJ Cruiser and was mostly talking to me about my intake and exhaust

I had someone in a tan gen 3 TRD sport yesterday pull up to me at a light and ask me how much mileage I get while pulling my V-nose trailer.
