    It was in Southern Utah and it was hot for them. I slept most of the night in just my boxers and didn't throw the blanket over me until about 5am.

    Not sure what you mean. For truck camping? Or just camping in general? I'm not sure about public land camping (outside of a campground) in MN, but there are some nice, remote national forest campgrounds - but you are in a site. Crescent Lake Campground in the Superior National Forest inland from Lutsen is quite nice with great lakeside, private sites. It's a big lake (motor boats allowed) with good fishing and lots of other lakes nearby with access for paddling.

    A little late posting this but life has been busy.

    Drove for 6 hours after work on a Friday. Spent 1 night on the side of a USFS road then moved to the spot below. Got up way too early on a Monday to get a spot 1/2 mile off the center of totality. Sat in traffic for 2+ hours just to get back to town. It was obvious that I wouldn't make it home in time for work on Tuesday, so I burned another precious vacation day. Found a lake-adjacent spot with great views and took my time getting home the next day. Totally worth it & I'd do it again without hesitation.
