What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

I guess im officially an LT truck now. Dont they all have a skid thing? Put this piece of aluminum in to keep rocks out of the intercooler. Has holes because intercooler. Lol........ Im liking the look. Still going to beef up the front bumper more. Also finished up the rear bumper. Came out great! Putting the final black coats on.

No, not a one piece. stock hood with Mcneil racing 3" glass.

Would the front driveshaft from the v6 trucks work on my I4? I don't know if the lengths were different or not or if the driveshafts were all the same.

 

What body flare is that along the bed sides? I really dig the look.

Glassworks fenders and bedsides. I think they are now adv fiberglass.

 

Cleaned rain gutters. Weatherstrip is easy to remove & reinstall.

 

Well....crap.

I think it's time for new rear wheel bearings. I noticed on Low Range they offered bearing kits but the 95-00 axles are different from 01-04. I swapped this elocker/ABS (not used) axle on for my open/non-abs. Does anyone know how to tell which year model the axle would be from?

OEM. It's not as bad as everyone says it is. There's plenty of documented proof both here and T4R.com. Good luck which ever way you go.

Awesome! Glad to hear you got it all done. Did you just replace the seal or the whole 9 yards? If you replaced everything did you take it to a shop?

Also be aware that if you only replaced one keep an eye on the other the next couple months, as I replaced one and then a few months later my other side went out. (might be linked to each other might not, not really sure) Still have yet to fix it as my leg is now getting better

 

I can confirm that 7069's work with tundra brakes without a spacer. I was running it with my last wheel and tire setup

 

I see this hasn't been answered yet. Here's a few things: have you adjusted your rear brakes yet? You need to adjust them because to get the shoes off you took all that other crap off which lessened the tension on the shoes.

Another thing is you need to break in your brakes as well IIRC.

Did you clean up the drum area after all that grease got in there and messed stuff up?

Tundra brakes won't do much for the rear, but good investment regardless.

Did you bleed the brakes correctly? Starting farthest away then moving closer?
