Replaced the uniballs in my lower control arms today. Pretty easy job, until I got to the driver's side and the shock to LCA bolt was siezed. I even went at it with a 8lb sledge and it didn't budge, was even bending the mount on the lca  I'll probably end up cutting it off :angrygirl: put it back together for now and it feels nice and tight with the new balls!

. And I'm assuming you hit that bolt with a penetrant prior to hammertime too? Damn, end up giving it a little coat of anti-seize before re-installation?

Still liking the 295s? I'm due for tires in a few months and am 95% sure I've pegged that size as my next. Not a huge difference in the on paper numbers but it just seems more right in my mind compared to a 285/75.

Oh yea I panther pissed all over that bolt and let it soak. I think it's bent is the problem. It's time for a new bolt cuz I'll probably have to cut it out/drill it.

295 is awesome but I'll probably be going back to 285/75 because I have a bit of rubbing I'd like to get rid of and I dont feel like hacking my fenders for it

Hmm, good to know. I'm hesitant to hack up the fenders as well. Perhaps 285 may be the better choice then, especially considering my wheels are 3.5" BS.

Idk man 295 didn't really net me any extra ground clearance. It's like a 1/4 taller than a 285/75 bfg when mounted. If I hack fenders then I have to worry about fender liner fab cuz I ain't about that no fender liner life. I like the air going into my motor clean!

    snorkels fix that, lol.

the 315 made a pretty big difference in areas over a 33 inch tire in utah. but really depends on what youre wheeling i guess.

This might have been covered, but I haven't gotten through all of the pages in this build yet. How much preload are you running? I've got a relatively similar front setup and recently switched to 700lb coils. It looks like you only have about a half inch of thread showing on your coilovers? What fender to hub measurement are you getting? Mine are cranked way too high and I'm thinking I'll only need 2 to 3 threads showing. Thanks!

Yep that's all I've got on mine. 2 threads on drivers and 0 threads on passenger.

Idk what the hub to fender is. I can get it if you want but it'll be later this week. Traveling...

Thanks for getting back with me so quickly! The measurements aren't super crucial. I was just wonder what settings worked well for you and how low to crank my preload. This helps out a ton. Is the ride pretty nice with such low preload?

Yea it's as nice as 700# coilovers will get haha

Keeps you in the middle of your travel too. Equal up and down travel which is ideal

I went from 600lb fronts that were pretty dang preloaded, so I'm hoping I notice I decent difference with the 700lb coils. I guess I'll find out here soon enough. The truck looks great btw. Your build is definitely an inspiration. Everything is very well done.

Do you have any photos of the fenders/wheel wells after the switch to the 295s? I'm debating 285vs 295. I'm already Cmc

Not on me. I will be back later this week to get some if you want. If you're already cmc you'll be fine if you have 16x8 0 offset/4.5 backspace. If your wheels are different spec than that I can't help. If you've got 3.5 backspace you're gonna eat the shit out of your fender haha

That would be great! I am already cab mount chopped. I'm currently running the trd beadlocks 16x7.5 I think 10mm offset. Not sure what the bs is on them maybe 4.14 if my math and understanding is correct. I was looking at going with the scs ray 10
16X8 -12mm 4.0bs in the way future but if I can run the 295 on the trd wheel I'd love to do that for a while. Just need to see what I'm going to be getting into.

I'll take a pic when I get back. They fit ok with minimal cutting on that wheel spec but if you go hard and bottom the front end out they eat the fenders at the top of the wheel well for sure. Mine has... And now it's pretty much self cleared and I'm missing a few screws in the fender haha

Yeah they look like they might if they get stuffed in there. Just having a hell of a hard time deciding on a wheel and tire combo. Especially between the 285 and 295. Although your 285 kevkars looked pretty beefy on some of your IG photos
