A few mods here and there and counting....
Mine is an 07 auto. I don't have anything obstructing in that area other than my alarm siren. Just check the space first. Its made of aluminum so its quite easy to cut/drill.

there's detailed instructions with the kit. It comes with a switch that's typically installed by the outlet in the bed. Probably could do a switch like the one that's used for the hood lights I guess, just not sure it would fit.

I would agree about the gas mileage part except he's part owner in a company and this is a company vehicle and they pay for the gas.

Installed Overhead Compass and Temperature Display along with outside temperature sensor and wiring; LED lights reverse backup; LED license plate lights; Added GTA Bluetooth Audio kit to stock radio for iphone audio; Spare tire steel braided air hose extension connection to rear bumper; Installed new headlights along with new bulbs PIAA H4 XTreme and for fog lights PIAA H10 XTreme bulbs. Installed new hood with "hood-scoop". Installed Predator Side Steps. Replaced front chrome grill with customized color matched (Desert Sand Mica) grill with added TOYOTA lettering (also in matched color), installed and secured tailgate anti-theft devices. Also installed a new external TPMS monitor for all 4 tires.
Just installed an external TPMS for my 2008 Tacoma.

As we all know our 2nd Gen. Tacoma's come with a TPMS that is standard but the system is very generic and not specific on which tire or tires are low, actual tire pressure, etc.

I was not going to spend a lot of $ on a fancy set up.

So I decided to go the cheapest route and purchased this kit off Ebay and installed it this afternoon. Price $56.99 with free shipping.

Also the display will show the tires temperature in C (Celsius) and the tire pressure display can be set to show either PSI or Bar (already come's from the factory set to show PSI).

EDIT: Forgot to mention that the unit also has a USB port so that if you want to charge your mobile device (iphone, etc.) using a USB link you can! It's hidden right underneath the display.
We'll see how it works out over a period of time.:burnrubber:

EDIT NOTE: you can read about the update on this particular TPMS here in this thread in post #24......

Drove to Raleigh and back this weekend. My return trip only got me 15mpgs :( the worst MPGs I've gotten since owning the truck.
I like that alot. How big are the caps on the valve stems?

@Tex-Tac are they easy to remove and put back on? I air down often for the beach and having another option to view the PSI along with my manual guage would be cool.

    In my honest opinion yes.

The kit comes with a small special tool. With this tool one can install and lock each sensor and remove each sensor from the tires valve stem easy. For some they may find this annoying but not for me. Just remember to keep that tool in your truck, like in the center console or glove box, etc. no big deal.

Added Llumar window tint all the way around, upgraded to Lifetime LED headlight bulbs, and finished my HiLux tribute re-badging with 4 chrome sill plates. And gave it a spray wash to remove the sea spray from the last two days on the beach.

Wow, good luck with that company. I've seen a ton of terrible reviews for their product and customer service.
