If you can get a dehumidifer going inside the truck that will help pull the moisture out of the inside. The sooner the better.

I can agree with the insurance thing, sucks to have a claim either auto or home owners, and natural disasters/floods are usually not covered at least In this stupid state of PA they will bend you over.

1" of water Isn't that much IMO depending on how it entered the truck if through firewall I agree insurance, I'm new to taco's but I believe if you can remove the interior and dry/clean it all, unplug all connections and spray with contact cleaner then a dab of dielectric grease on the terminals will keep the electric from causing issues. It is time consuming but may be better than increased insurance rates. I can't help ya on the rear diff, haven't read up on all that yet, but if water could get in I'd get it flushed and filled.

Sorry about your situation, bummer. Let insurance straighten it out and use this opportunity to put a 3 inch lift on it and write it off as flood protection. Lol

If you really want to fix it yourself and not open a claim, rent or buy a carpet shampooer. I have one I bought at Lowe's that has a hose attachment, can get into a vehicle with it. Run it without cleaning solution to get as much water out as possible, let it dry... Then I'm sure you can find some kind of anti fungal carpet cleaning solution to go over it with. A shop vac might also be handy. This is what I would do.

This flood (we had three feet in the road but nowhere near the house) has finally won the "I need to lift the Tacoma" argument with my wife for me.

Can anyone hook him up with a wiring diagram for the interior? Someone here must have access to the service manuals.

He said it was 1 inch in the cab of this truck so I was thinking the 3 inch would've saved it

Your differentials and trans are probably fine. Usually they suck water in through the breather due to temperature difference in water crossings. Drive it around the block, check the fluids. Gray diff fluid and strawberry pink trans fluid means water got in.

Ok thanks for that info since it might be what I do.....though as of an hour ago while driving I had a warning light pop up saying my moonroof was open...it wasn't. Worried about electrical now.

Best bet is to contact you auto insurance, get a claim going.

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
Op has already seen this but posting it for anyone else with water damage. Lots of wiring for the seat sensors, airbags, etc. Just a pick of what's under your carpet..20170725_194011.jpg

WD-40 means water displacer, 40th formula. It's really good at it too, not just a lube. Need to try and find all your electrical connections and get the water out of them.

You could just say eff it and tear all your carpet out. Have a sweet hose washable floor, like them Jeep guys. Lol.

Insurance probably wont total it for that.

Take out all of the seats, remove the console and all the floor trims, take out carpet. Let the carpet sit in the garage or somewhere else safe with fans pointing at it until it dries. Clean and dry the interior of the truck, pull up the insulation by the firewall and put fans blowing underneath them. Let it sit like that over night. Assess the carpet padding. If its mildewed, replace it. If its not mildewed, put the truck back together it'll be fine.

Not a bad idea to replace all the fluids as well (trans, diff, transfer, etc)

Or just take it to the dealer, let them rape your insurance company, pay your insurance deductible and let dealer handle it.
