Hello! I bought a 2006 DCSB and wanted to lift it 3". I was just looking for some advice concerning the ramifications that come with doing a lift like this. I've seen a lot of guys saying the Bilstein 5100 is all you'd need but I'm wondering if things like a differential drop kit or new UCA's would be worth getting.

You will need adjustable UCAs for sure.

Most don't recommend the diff drop.

UCA will make it possible to get a proper alignment. You won't regret the purchase.

You can't get a 3" lift with JUST the 5100. You'll need different coils if you want the full 3". Most use OME coils. Marie at @HeadStrong Off-Road has the best deals on them AND the best customer service from what I've heard.

Besides UCA's and the diff drop, what are some other things I'll have to replace or adjust to get the best ride on and off-road for my truck? I'm just trying to make this truck a less aggressive overland rig.

+1 on uca's and using OME coils from headstrong off road. I would also recommend either a 10mm trim packer or 1/4" top plate spacer for the drivers side assembly if you don't want the "taco lean". My truck needed both to make the front sit even. When you do it use power tools and an extra set of hands if you can, it'll make life a lot easier.

I'd like to stay below 2k, more around the area of 1700-1800.

I spent $625 +\- on my setup from wheelers off-road. This price also was also everything full assembled which I recommend. I got 5100s all the way around with OME 885s and toytec add a leaf in the rear. Wheelers also advised me to do a 3/8 spacer on each side to be the best setup for my 285s. Gave me right at 3 inches of lift. I'm running stock UCAS and my truck rides like a dream ( I will eventually get aftermarket UCAS though). Here is a picture of my truck for refference.
