If you didn't drive through the deep water you will be ok as far as Diff. Your truck has a Diff breather stock, it won't let water in

although I haven't dealt with water like this, yes there are wires etc under the seats.

All the sensors for passenger airbag and seat belt go through the seat and under it. If you look under there is a wiring harness. Many use that wiring harness as a way into the cab for the CB antenna.
There's even a part mounted to the frame on the driver side that has wires going into the cab, find any RCI slider install instruction and you'll see it as that's how I found out.

At 1" I'm not sure it would've got to your fuse box inside but still might be an issue.
In terms of the Diff you are actually ok if you weren't driving and the diff was cool.

The reason for the diff breather mod is because when the diff is warm when you go through water that breather isn't even a breather but a one way valve from what I've read on it. Its supposed to let air escape as your diff heats up, but when you cool it rapidly it closes and creates a vacuum sucking water in through the seals.

Also, although it sucks truck may be ruined, hope all is well for you and any family etc you have there. Monetary things can be replaced life can't. From what I've seen on the news its one hell of a storm

Wife works in insurance. Says if there is even a hint of electrical after flood damage it will be totalled. Let them because you've got yourself a real problem vehicle in your hands otherwise.

My 2016 sr5 flooded in the 16' flood in Louisiana, mine was up to the top of the dash so it was history. As far as ins goes, after Katrina very strict laws were put in place in regards to flooded vehicles and the resale of them. Ins company's will total some that you would think they wouldn't. I don't know if this is just in Louisiana or if it's a federal thing but if you file a claim and it's not totaled than it will have to be retitled as a water damaged vehicle. Sucks that this happened to you, I feel your pain!

It's been a long day. I mis read that thought it said 1' my bad. You def. have to get all the wet stuff out. Remove the seats, the carpet prolly the center console too. There is wiring under the carpet too. If you leave it it will grow mold and stink real bad. Who knows what was in the flood water too.
Sorry about your truck. Good to hear you and your family and your home is ok.

Dude. Man, I've dealt with two flood vehicles. Let the insurance company handle it. Don't do anything yourself. Hope for a total because you will be fighting electrical gremlins the rest of the trucks life. Sorry but the truth hurts. The mechanics and interior can be fixed. Electronics just don't work right after a flood.

Laugh at people who post about leaks because it's a night and day difference between a leak and a flood.

The only time a vehicle actually made me cry was one of the flood vehicles I had. It was NEVER right. Yes, it was a Toyota. I learned my lesson. Good luck.

Huge difference between a flood and a water crossing, unless your water crossing takes several hours. Think water resistant instead of water proof.

Throw the truck in a giant bag of rice.....works for cell phones!

But seriously. Don't do shit without talking to an insurance guy. Well, maybe get a dehumidifier in there. But beyond that I wouldn't start ripping things apart. I'd have it inspected by whoever your insurance guy reccomends.

I'd also like to add this will be a huge test in patience. Your ins company is going to be overwhelmed with claims. It took a little over 2 months before I got my claim settled with state farm.

I would replace everything that was wet. Do not reuse that carpet for sure. There is all kinds of bacteria and crap in that water.

So sorry. I agree with all on let insurance take care of it.......not sure if possible but perhaps buy back as salvage title then build it up and wheel it.

Flood water is rife with all kinds of garbage, chemicals, etc. Let insurance do what you pay them to.

Does insurance cover this type of stuff though?

I know when my neighbor had a tree fall on his house the insurance told him they don't cover acts of nature. So they wouldn't pay to remove the tree and fix the fence. And only after the tree was removed would they look at the house and the damage to it
