forgive my ignorance, but i've never though about using a glossifier over the plastidip. besides changing it from a matte color to a shiny color, are there any advantages? does it protect it from chipping?

From what I've read it does add some added protection. How much or whatever I don't know.

My guess is that it is just another layer of dip..! It does give it some added gloss ..... But the extra layers gives it added protection also... right..?

I think I'll do my tires in matt black, with 4 coats of Glossifier....that way I will not need to put tire shine on them anymore..!!

I'll be doing my grill just like yours. I like the toyota emblem to stay silver.

    No.... well kinda...

it is a badge that i purchases and painted so the dip also caused an image on the brick.

The chameleon plasti dip is NOTHING like the videos ive seen. It is quite a bit more of a mix of both colors than one solid color that shifts to another. I shook it well a and had it in a warm environment for a while before use. heck its never cold here... Too small of an object to get good effect or am i doing something wrong?

Finished up the wheels over the weekend, super easy and looks 100 times better on a Quicksand.

Just ordered a can of the tan online and picked up a can of glossifier to start experimenting with some other ideas!

Aha! I get it. Dude.. Not sure what I was thinking. For whatever reason when I saw the painted "ghost face" badge I was thinking it was 100% Plasti-Dip...... Long day.

Finally got around to derping the badges and bumper caps. It wasn't terribly difficult and from a distance looks pretty good. In the future I will probably just replace with black badges and eventually I plan on a steel bumper. IMG_3639.jpg IMG_3634.jpg IMG_3643.jpg

I pulled up a video on YouTube of dipping a Tacoma grill. The front assembly is crazy easy to remove with just 2 screws by each headlight and two plastic pop up screws. Once off the bezel and grille insert require some finesse with the tabs but not that difficult once you figure it out. For $10 it's the most bang for the buck for a visual upgrade you can find :D

I just saw your post and I did make a video of the grill removal back in February, but it did not turn out well so i canned it.

About the video, taking to grill off - it was wedged in place, and once it started to move, it moved quickly but luckily I was able to "catch" it- maybe this part is better done with 4 hands and maybe with a blanket or pad on the ground in case it slips.

My wife drove up as we were filming and I edited out that last part, but it re-attaches the same method as removal, obiviously.

Here it is, since you asked, and fwiw:

I have a 2016 TRD Sport DCSB and I like the wheels the way they are but, do you think Plastidip would be good salt protection during the winter? Salt on NY roads in the winter really eats up wheels.

    What a fun truck!
Yes, but you would have to spray the inside of the rim too, not just the face. It would have to be fully coated, like six solid coats. Don't rush it like I did, or you'll have to use a pressure washer to get off any areas that have been applied too lightly.
