I think the Cavalry blue will probably end up being fine.

Some free-thinking TW member will do a crazy extreme build with one that will end up looking awesome and everyone will be on board.

Only reason I got a Tacoma was for the 2.7L, last real Toyota engine.

If they every offer an Offroad with a manual and cement, I'm all in :bananadance:

I hope they drop the 2.7. It'd make mine just a touch more special. I doubt they will though, and if they do it won't be replaced with anything. It is an option because it is already in production for the Hilux and was an easy fit into the 3rd gen. If they offer 3 or 4 different engines will it bring in more buyers? Not likely. They would probably have similar sales but they would be spread out between the engine options. Why go through the expense of developing 2 or 3 more drive train options when for the most part it will only cannibalize the 3.5 sales?

If they sold this in a TRDOR trim, I'd consider trading in!

I do see some minor cosmetic changes every year sure. But you probably wont find 3 different trunk locks for the same camry package in 3 model years or two different taillights after developing a new taillight. Maybe a mid-cycle refresh sure.

That's pre-pro bolt ons. The only difference between a pro/TRDOR is a few badges and bolt on accessories.

If it ends up looking like that, it looks better than I thought it would.

The Cavalry Blue is kind of like the Quicksand in a way that it's hard to get a good photograph of what it really looks like. Just google for FJ Cruisers in that color to get a better idea. People posting completely different types of blue in comparison doesn't help.

That doesn't look as horrible, but I'm not that accurately represents the color. I think it's lighter than that. Like a sky blue.

    There we go. *shudder*
