OK....When I first received my Pelfreybilt aluminum bumper, I had no idea it wasn't the correct one. It got painted, assembled, then installed. I noticed it didn't quite fit where it met the grill. 2" opening along the top edge... It didn't take 24 hours before several people pointed out that it was a 2012/2015 bumper. I'd ordered '05/'11 version. So I contacted Pelfreybilt. Mike stepped up immediately and agreed to send me the correct bumper. Since I had gone to the expense of priming and painting the 1st one, they agreed (actually volunteered before I'd even thought of it) to send me another that is already powder coated. My "new" bumper will be here Friday. I've designed a 4-wheel cart to hold the bumper while it's being bolted in place. Makes it a one man simple job. I'll swap out the bumpers Friday evening or Saturday morning. Then we'll be done.....almost..

Gotta deal with bumper #1. Pelfreybilt would like to sell it where it sits. You pick it up from me. I'll put you in contact with them, you pay the invoice and come to me once that's final and get your bumper. They're currently offering it @ the sale price, less freight. You can speak with them directly to negotiate a better deal if they are willing. Ask for Mike. Tell him you're interested in the "Bluegrass Taco bumper that's in Kentucky!"

    Their phone # is, 844 726 3373

They are top notch people to deal with and they did me a number of favors. The mix up probably happened as a result of their moving locations....Anyone who's ever moved knows how that can be confusing.

I CANNOT make deals for them. I'll handle everything I can on my end, but it's THEIR bumper. I'm just holding it for the time being. Again, contact MIKE @ Pelfreybilt. (Make him a legitimate offer)

Ha. See it now. I was too busy worried about your sway bar to even notice that.

It's actually not a terrible situation....The opening at the top is a handy way to reach the winch. If I got stuck with it, I'd have been alright with that. But I'd RATHER have the correct one. I've used #1 to get all the bugs worked out. Swap should take about an hour.

Sway bar goes away this afternoon if it's not raining. I don't see it taking longer than an hour to remove (including R&R of IFS skid)

That'll leave me with bumper swap, wiring fogs, installing t-case skid, 887 for 885 swap, front door window tint. Then I'm done for a while (until I can convince Sandy we need MOAR TRUCK PARTS!)

Search is on for extreme bargain on oem roof rack.

    It never ends...

Not such a bad deal....I had to take the bumper off 3 times so far. Got pretty good (and fast) at it. Up side is, new one will be powder coated. That's a little tougher than spray paint!

Anyone close that's interested can save $450+.

Pelfreybilt was all over this. They immediately took the bull by the horns and started making things happen! I never had the chance to argue with anyone!

Swap will take about an hour. Not the big deal you might imagine.

    Today's plan;

    Go home @ 2PM.
Crawl under truck with ratchet(s) sockets, and box wrenches. Remove IFS skid. Remove sway bar assembly. Re-install IFS skid. Drink beer.

List grows shorter. Will be done in less than 2 weeks.

    Swap front bumper [Saturday]
Wire fogs [after front bumper is finished]
    Install T-case skid
    Swap 887's for 885's
    Tint front door windows

    Then rest!

    Make new list!

    Well, fuck me runnin!

First, I didn't ever notice any fitment issues, nor did I take the time to inspect your pics that closely. It's a hunk of steel (or aluminum) hanging off the front of a Tacoma haha.
Second, why can't I be independently wealthy and buy this thing from you?!?!?!? :annoyed:

Make 'em an offer. Use a credit card. Pay on it for the next 12 years.

It's 100% not possible for me to afford it right now, nor do I have a credit card. They wouldn't accept my VERY low ball offer lol!
Much rather have your seks bumper anyway

If CBI made that bumper in aluminum....I was ALMOST ready to pull the plug on a CBI Moab 2.0 in aluminum....Then I saw the Pelfreybilt sale ad.

So does CBI and a dozen others. It worked out well with Pelfreybilt because they were moving....and had a huge inventory reduction sale going on. In the end, it came down to availability. When I first started shopping, NO ONE thought they could get me fixed up by now. As it turns out, I'm almost done with this phase. Happy with what I have, but would have been happy with a few others also. Still like the looks of the CBI Dakar the most...Doesn't look massive and heavy.

Now that I looked a bit longer, I see the gap at the grille.

By the way, that chrome surround and badge are clashing with the sweet black bumper
