Hey guys, new member, first post here. Hoping you guys can lend some assistance. 2011 Off Road, 100k miles, mine since new. I've been diligent with general maintenance and milestone services, and (knock on wood) have not had to do anything major yet - couple bearings and a few other little things but that's about it. Have been considering upgrading but I'm currently leaning more toward keeping the truck for awhile, probably north of 150k, maybe closer to 200k. Truck has lived in MA its whole life so has the inevitable rust, but it isn't a problem at this point.

Two questions:
1. Anything I should be looking out for or planning to replace around the 100k mark as I hit it? Besides the obvious wear and tear items, spark plugs, etc.
2. Anyone know a good shop in the Boston area that knows Tacomas and won't cost me an arm and a leg to do decent work? I had a good local shop for awhile but have had bad luck with them recently.

I always flush fluids every 50k, so at 100k I'd swap coolant and thermostat, transmission and transfer case fluid, and differential fluid.

With 2nd gen Tacoma's if you haven't done the leaf spring recall the factory ones are probably about worn out at 100k, lol.

Did you take the ferry, or drive?

 

Wife got home... saw the box. Already busting my balls about getting more stuff for the truck. FML

 

Next time just have it delivered to your workplace, lol.
My GF is nosy as hell, so around the holidays all of her presents get delivered to the office.

I did that with the HomerTaco grill, with the Pro grill as well. Should have known better.

 

Plus you don't have to wait until you get home to open it...

 

Welcome! X2 what Noel said. Just keep up with your maintenance and worry about things that are needed as they come up. 2nd gens are pretty damn reliable but make sure to keep on top of that rust

 

Bonus.

 

And if you haven't done them by 100k, shocks and struts are long overdue, even if they aren't leaking.
