yeah, thanks to TW and all you folks I have studied and learned more because of these discussions. I just wonder how many times an evolutionist has pulled out a Bible and study guide to learn more about God because of these discussions. I'm sayin'......uh......never.
evolution is adding new genetic information. mutation is the altering of existing DNA or the dropping of a gene, therefore concluding that mutation is not evolution to me.

Something to think about when talking about the bible. The prophecy was written down before it happened. In Daniel and Revelation it speaks about the one world government (New World Order has a constitution now), Talks about the world becoming more atheistic and against God (you can see that), It talks about a one world currency (the European Union is pushing the Euro and it is the fastest growing currency in population), Earth quakes in diverse places (meaning more frequently in places that are not known for many earth quakes), Wars and Rumors of wars (nuclear wars are what we are still worried about right now). You may say these things are consequential because there are always wars, the world always moves towards globalized economics, and so on. Yeah you may be right, But the bible still predicted it first.

I don't know what to believe but this world and universe is way to complex it's even beyond Evolutions comprehension!!

I am independent Fundamental Baptist. I have a book which shows the history of our faith. Once I get it out and crack it open I will let you know if you'd like, but I assure you that it is not a branch of the catholic church.

To put it bluntly, yes but if it wasn't for the compassion of modern society, everyone with down syndrome would have died by being unable to cope with their environment. Plus, they're sterile, which prevents the procreation of a "down syndrome" race. You seem hung up on the idea that if it's a positive outcome its evolution, if it's negative or weird, it's a mutation, they're the same thing. If the mutation provides a favorable result, that genetic pattern will be passed on to offspring. As you look back through history, this pattern of favorable mutation that has progressed to the current species is evolution. Present tense, mutation. Past tense, evolution.

Another thing to think about, as Ty mentioned, not all genetic traits are active at once, genes can be superior to other genes and present, or genes can be deactivated until the right combination comes around to activate them. With that notion it's not to hard to see how the building blocks of the eye (a Creationist favorite) were dormant until the right combination activated in some lucky organism who could differentiate from light and dark. In the context of billions of years, in an environment basically completely consisting of every element mixed together it's inevitable. Statically every combination of elements will occur at some point, at the most basic level if it's stable the elements will form a molecule, at the advanced level it will mutate the life form.

exactly, way to complex! if your in the middle on what to believe heres a second look at it.

if i live my whole life for christ and read the bible and live by it, i would love everyone around me, give to the needy and have a peace in my heart.. even when you do mess up and sin. i would call that a good life, god or no god. if god isnt true i still had a great life, helped people out and wind up in the same place everyone else goes or doesnt go when i die

now if i live agianst the bible and for myself, whether good or not. you could end up having a good life but still may feel like your missing something. if god is true then you would have to spend eternity in hell... which would be like the most pain you have have ever felt times 10 and lasting forever.

    who has more to lose?

Gene mutation can be inherited (true), but it can also occur during one's lifetime, and not just favorable genes are passed on, which to me doesn't lead me to believe there's "evolution" involved...I still see no pattern for the "billions of years" theory/idea, as it appears no one really knows...there have been genetically affected peeps/creatures for centuries, yet no species has become the ultimate pure strain so often invisioned, at least as far as I'm aware of. I can can see where peeps/animals have adapted/evolved to enviromental situations, but not all creatures have that ability; hence extinct species. One thing for sure, we'll all have honorary doctorate degrees when all is said and done...;)
