I think it was March or April that ATF created and added additional staff to a new dept for handling of NFA/IPB from what I was told....

I found it....They are still properly late to the party!

The Industry Processing Branch (NFA IPB) – led by IPB Branch Chief, Amy L. Stely (304-616-4522) will oversee the daily operations of industry forms processing at all levels and work with me and all of you to provide the best experience we can for the supply chain. This will include an effort to continually leverage technology enhancements and refine current operations.

The Government Support Branch (NFA GSB) – led by GSB Branch Chief, David Howell (304-616-4546) will oversee the daily processing of SOT applications, ATF Form 10 processing, 479.33 exemptions processing, handling of industry expedite requests for Gov’t and LE, complex issues requiring policy evaluation or re-evaluation with FEID & FIPB, and addressing Industry general requests such as 479.26 alternate procedure requests that are not policy related. Policy related requests will be handled by FIPB. GSB will directly support Federal, state, and local entities with acquisitions and overall LE support.

The NFA Division Staff Program Office – led by Supervisory Program Analyst, Melissa Mason (304-616-4569) will oversee the publication of the Firearms Commerce in the United States – Annual Statistical Update, manage FOIA requests, respond to data calls, and will oversee the vetting of statistical data for posting on the ATF.gov website.

Right - I knew they had done this. It also seems, though that there MIGHT be a call out for a 90 temporary surge...? Wishful thinking, at least. :fingerscrossed:

Less than 90 days would be awesome by the end of the year. Then I'll submit my "soon to be in my hands" AR9 lower to be an SBR :D

Texas has a tax free weekend too but not everything is considered tax free. Usually its just back to school stuff so no fun with that.

I did get an email from the my gun trust lawyer who sent out a mail ad to participate in a silencer day at a disclosed location which I might do as long as the storm doesnt screw me over

Mississippi (where I used to live) has a tax free weekend for all outdoor sports related equipment, from guns to balls everything is tax free.
I personally never shopped for anything other than ammo on the tax free weekend because all the stores were so busy.

Called to check on my status for the first time today. Received my paperwork 2/24 and it is in pending status. I'm guessing I have about 4 more months to go :-/

OK. I will never understand how the Federal government works, even though I've worked for them for many years.

I called and checked on the two silencers above, both sent in on the same check, but with different "check cashed" dates. The one from Oct 28 is still pending. The one from Dec 6 was approved Aug 21. Maybe I get to pick it up this week!

I wouldn't be surprised. How my two got separated by 6 weeks when on the same check? Wonder if they even got sent to the same inspector. Hopefully the second one will be approved soon. These are my first NFA items am I'm stoked!

More than likely they didnt. Typically, forms get put in random on inspectors desks and they work at different paces. What did you buy :D? I am waiting on a form 1 and a form4 for a griffin optimus. Also, did you file as a trust of individual?

The one approved already is a The Crow by Silent Manufacturing. It is a 22lr silencer that is strong enough for 22 hornet/221 fireball, which is what it will be used for the most. Also, the guy who makes them lives right down the road from me. Figure it's nice to have a local guy if something goes wrong. He has threaded several rifles for me. The other is a GemTech Tracker for a precision 7-08. I will probably buy a light hunting rifle like a Kimber that is already threaded in the future. I don't want to thread any of my current hunting rifles.

Lol.... Funny here is the story behind this cluster fuck. There was a pile management system being used for when Silencerco sent in all those applications last year. Now that those piles have been discovered its mixed with single applications that were sent in as well.

Here is were this gets strange all forms of payments was processed and applications piled back in the pile management piles. All this was discovered in Feb 17 from what i have been told was from Aug 16-Jan 17......Many of these delays are now being focused on triple checking paper work and FFL/Manufacturing license forms submitted to make sure all manufactures have correct license and are complying with the law....

Geeze what a mess. So basically now its a who knows when the forms will be processed kind of thing. Really hoping my form 1 comes back when it's supposed to and that my form 1 is ok too. Do you know if they have figured out the Trust issues yet?

I think they most of the mess is kind of cleaned up from the overload last summer they didn't know what to do. Trusts are simple if filled out right and work well just stick with a basic NFA firearms Trust you should be fine.

Patiently waiting for my stamp to show up. It was approved 8/21 and the dealer says he still hasn't got it. I get that it can take several weeks, but almost everyone on NFA tracker is getting theirs in 7-10 days or less. I'm just hoping there is not an issue the dealer is putting off telling me. I reported earlier he had a break in, but mine was not one taken (supposedly), and he also moved locations since I bought it. I really hope it's not a case of him stalling as he tries to find it. I wish there was tracking from the ATF to see were it really is.

I've been eyeing more NFA stuff. But damn the wait is too damn long. I waited 8.5 months for 2 can prior to 41P. I've been wanting to sbr a scar and mpx. But the wait. I guess if I hold off I'm waiting either way..
