So my roof weather strip came off the other day on the freeway. This was the second time so I figured it was the clip. I removed the old clip and was going to install a new one. But I'm a little confused on how to put on the new clip? The mounting surface is like a wax/plastic material. I tried melting it with a heat gun but that didn't work. I'm guessing it's glue then?

How did the old one come off? Did it take some persuasion? I had to remove my weather stop for my Prinsu and I used an RTV silicon sealant to hold it back down and prevent water leakage into the cab.

Epoxy is strong stuff. Would work great to hold a clip into place but I wouldn't use it to hold the weather strip down. It would be a bitch to remove later. Don't know what he needs though so maybe we're on to something.

I'm not sure what held it on. It took some light scrapping but that was about it. I think I got the TSB on it and it ask to use a "heat lamp" but that didn't work. I'll probably just use glue to glue the clip down.

    All thanks to your build!
Passenger side. I think I'm just going to use gorilla glue or some type of automotive adhesive to hold down that clip.

I never had an issue with that truck, now my 05, it happened a few times until I used epoxy. It never budged after that.

Well, I was referring to the speed. I only speed because of one thing.... Thanks to you, now I speed all the time.

But yea, I think I'll just do that. Gotta tackle it tomorrow. Today is the lady's birthday. By the way, here she is at Joshua Tree a few weeks back when we went out there to look at the meteor shower. IMG_20170813_185208_039.jpg

    Congrats buddy!

Thank you, still working out of the old house till the end of Sept, then officially out on the 29th. Still working on the interior of the new house, and working out the build on my new shop. Need to pick up the pace if I want to hit my goal, been working too much to get anything done, lol.

    Im in Vista!
