I stopped after getting a technical associates at TSTC...hasn't really paid off at all truthfully. I wanted to go further from there to get a bachelors but I just couldn't afford to keep adding debt to the pile. The jobs I have had were more of just stepping stones than a career option. I have been applying to industry jobs that are focused around my degree and no one wants to hire without relevant industry experience...just got the email back from SiLabs this morning that they are not moving forward with hiring me mainly because I just don't have enough relevant experience working with IC and PCB designs. Just wish I didn't burn up a whole day of PTO to go to the fucking interview :frusty:

Didn't realize so many of y'all served, thanks to everyone who did!

    :fistbump:

Ya made the right choice for sure

Sucks things worked out that way but it'll turn up for ya

All this talk about student debt... I hope it's worth it. Running out of scholarships this semester and just had to take out my first loan. It was so confusing and I still don't even have a check/deposit or anything, no idea where the money is

This stuff freaks me out to the bone. Gotta get more scholarships :bananadead:

Thanks buddy, I knew it was kind of a long shot but it was a positive experience getting to go through a crazy and long ass interview process. I kind of know what to expect now. Hopefully I find something better soon...I may lose my temper one day and just walk out of this bish :violent:

@ryanbitt that sucks man. I’m sure you want to stay in your field but APD has been hiring like crazy and they pay extremely well. Being a patrol cop probably sucks a little but after you put in your time there’s a lot of really cool paths you could take.

I thrive off of technology and seeing new and cool things. I don't have the patience to deal with shitheads lol...don't get me wrong I love helping people but I don't know if I like it enough to deal with all the other BS.

    Sorry to read that, @ryanbitt

If it's any consolation, I could tell you some stories from the 50 weeks I was out of work, before my current gig popped up. Duct taping the boobs together, vaseline on the teeth, to participate in the BS that is today's hiring process.

The worst one was flying to Chicago for a final interview with Concur, and being gunned, for not "showing enough enthusiasm for the position". Never mind that I had knee surgery scheduled for the next day, (so was hiding a limp), and sat in the hotel lobby for 2 hours past the start time of the interviews, before they came down and got me. Or maybe worse than that was interviewing and being gunned for the same position two different times, over the span of three months, with E2Open. The funniest part of that story was that I actually contacted the HR rep when I saw the position pop up again, telling her that I had seen it, and to not call me about the spot. Of course, they did call, I fell for it, and was gunned again, after the final interviews in Dallas, where I suspect the reason was that my last name doesn't have a lot of consonants and vowels in it. It took me contacting their VP of HR to get those clowns to pay me my mileage, two months later.

And just to show you the process has no rhyme or reason, the interview for the spot I have now took all of 20 minutes. The guy called me 5 minutes late, while he was walking through an airport, the call ended 5 minutes early, when the connection dropped, and two weeks later, boom; offer letter received.

A VERY funny book about the crappy hiring process in Austin is:

    My review of it:

Any of yall running a Fumoto valve on a 2nd gen?

More specifically....wondering how it would work with an RCI skid plate

Will it be 'sunk in' underneath the skid?

So you can just reach in and flip the valve...

Or will it protrude from the skid some what

Gentleman, did any of you ever deal with water in the cabin after heavy rain?

Seems like I have a leak by the amount of water but no clue where it's coming from.....
