Plasti dipped mine. No problems at all. Just make sure you put at least 5 coats if you go this route. Good luck!

Plastidip imo is shit. Don't waste your money/time. Be careful removing all the clips. Sand it, prime it, paint it, clear coat it.

Plastidip is much better than paint for the grill. No need to sand, prime or clear coat. Mine's holding up completely fine after 1 year, no chips and it's been on several road trips. My friend's painted grill with multiple coats of paint started to chip after the first month lol. Saves you time and money compared to traditional paint.

OP, 1 can of plastidip is all you really need if you want a matte black grill.

I have had bad luck with it. It bubbled and peeled when I washed it. This was years ago, so maybe I got a bad batch??

Maybe. Did you prep your surface before you plastidipped it? Just wash it and then rub it down with some alcohol.

I even lightly sanded it with high grit before hand. I am definitely in the minority of people who don't trust the stuff

That's unfortunate. I used about 2/3 of a can. I wouldn't do it on interior items but the thickness of it is doing great on my grill and if I ever get tired I can always take it off. Bedliner would be another choice I'd do before regular painting.

Just did my son's grill with PPG single stage gloss black. Sprayed an adhesion promoter first and then two coats of black. Looks really good and way better than plasti dip IMO. Aloha

Some people love it, I shot mine with adhesion promoter then spray on bedliner. So far so good, but also bought a spare to paint.
    To each their own.....

Does someone need a OEM 2017 Off Road Grill? I have a spare.

I installed this one about a year ago.
