The old codes, that I was using are still there and the other codes, that work from Conrad, are now there too.

 

This has been posted in other transmission threads but thought it could be useful here too:

160 - 200*F are considered normal temps, providing your engine radiator is functioning properly. If your engine overheats , your transmission will also overheat.

Normal fluid temperature in transmission to be 175*F.

Rate of oxidation to double for each temperature increase of 20*F above normal (175*F). As oxidation rate doubles, useful life of fluid is cut in half.

At 175*F life is 100,000 miles
At 195*F (20*F above 175*F) life is 50k miles
At 215*F life is 25k miles
At 235*F life is 12k
At 255*F life is 6,250
At 275*F life is 3,000
At 295*F life is 1500
At 315*F life is 750

At temperatures much above 300*F the metals in the transmission will tend to warp, twist etc. high temperatures causes the formation of varnish deposits which impair or pre vent transmission operation.

At a fluid temperature of 415*F fluid life is 30 minutes!

Installed mine today. Tripled checked the tranny codes. All I get is -480 on tf1 and 2.

 

Year and sub model? 4x4?

I did. I was missing a zero on the MTH entry. All is 5 by 5 now!

 

Just got back from a 4000+ mile trip. Cali to Rice Texas and back. Picked up my brand new Casita Freedom Deluxe. It was great having the scan gauge. My temps were nominal throughout the trip. I did warm up to 212 momentarily on the climb from the Colorado River west on I-40. 2000' climb in 113 degree desert heat towing 2800 lbs in 4th gear with a/c on.

Do you have an upgraded Tranny Cooler? I'd like to see the differences in running temps With & Without Cooler, With Towing, & Without Towing.

 

I have the factory cooler/tow package. If I can upgrade it I will. Cheaper than a tranny!

Nice, My temp readings for Houston have been around 152 lately. Making a trip to Georgetown this evening (3hrs) will post average transmission temperature readings for the trip.
