Don't live in California and never plan to. Take your transplants back please lol. Most people I know from the bay area considers themselves Norcal. I've never heard of anyone from oakland or san jose, etc say they're socal.

 

People think there are a lot of Californian transplants to other states (which there are) but its because California is the most populated. Of course you see more of them, because there are more in total. I'm of the belief that if you don't like where you live, stop complaining and move. Living in Seattle the last few years, I hear this all the time.

Oakland is referred to frequently as "East Bay". It's just as far north as San Francisco, which is "hella" norcal.

 

Understandable, but I have a bunch of friends and coworkers from Socal. More so than any other state including bigger east coast cities. Granted, it is closer to move 2 states up than it is across country.

As for Oakland, gotcha, I remember the term East Bay now. But doesn't that fall under the "Norcal" umbrella? Like Bellevue/Issaquah is the "east side" here but still part of Western Washington.

I love where I live, I just like giving shit to all you Californians moving up here and then complaining about the traffic/rain lol.

 

To ya'll southerners. Bay Area is Mid Cal. Nor Cal is Mendo, Humboldt, Trinity and Shasta.

 

As a 7th Generation Humboldt Native I would say that yes I am familiar with California.

 

As a 2nd generation San Diegan, I agree with your tacos and beer...but come on, the bay area is norcal!

Had a great time up in humboldt/orick with my little brother last winter, explored Lady Bird Johnson grove and thereabouts. Oh yea, what was this thread about?
