Anybody else with a '17 Tacoma trd off road 4x4 getting weird noises when they turn the wheel while stopped? Almost like a knocking.

Do you have any aftermarket parts?

It's the tires complaining about you screwing them into the ground. :D

Ok, maybe not, but close enough.

Does it do it with the slightest bit of motion (forward or back), rather than 'stopped'?

Does it do it on all surfaces or just a high friction one?

    No aftermarket parts.

Does it at low speed too. Sounds like it's coming from the middle of the steering.

Mine does this. A slight knock as you turn the steering to engage the other direction? Toyota tried to act like it was normal and I'm paranoid. Then Toyota tried to act like it was because my intake. I swapped back to stock airbox and it's still there. Please update if you get a fix or answers.

Mine does it too. Pretty sure it's the steering rack moving around in the bushings under the stress of turning wheels while you're stopped. It takes a lot of force to do that. I don't think anything is loose.

That said, never noticed it until I put big meats (285s) on my truck...

Mine does not do this. Others I have driven do not do this. I would have dealer let you try this on other trucks on the lot. If it does not happen you can tell them to take their normal and shove it.

It's definitely not tire rub or the tires hitting anything, because it happens when the wheels are straight and then turned in either direction. I'll take it in sometime next week or so and share the results.

    This^^ Well, maybe...

Happened on my old Tundra after I installed a lift and 33s. I had a buddy turn the wheel while I looked underneath and saw the rack movement. Replaced them with Poly bushings and it went away. Mine wasn't a knock, but more of a tap when I first turned the wheel either direction while stopped. However, this happening with a new vehicle on stock wheels seems very odd.
