Everything in my life is this way---I have things around my house I'll never use. But in case there's an ice breathing dragon, we'll be ready.

Yea man I was in love with it too when I saw it. I think it was inspired to compete with the raptor platform as at the time the decals were quite similar in their basic fashion. Problem is the raptor is a standard LT platform and designed to some extent for that while the Baja was just an add on to the standard Tacoma with the same stock parameters with billys. Nothing wrong with that, just for what they were asking I think many realized a standard Tacoma would suffice as the Baja wasn't that exclusive in design.

Now its hard to find them as their numbers off the lot were limited as it was a "pilot" program. Furthermore, some folks didn't like the graphic and have removed them. Nothing wrong with that, but yea the chances to find a traditional Baja are not as common as they once might of been for sure. With the upgrades to mine, I def don't plan to let go of mine.

Yeah I can see how that will play out. I'd spend even more money on that.

I don't mean to get off topic, but I was glancing at your pics in your build thread...dude I think the front end of your truck reminds me of a stink bug. Considering its history so far, could have a nice ring?

Yea once you start that slope with the raptor, shit that's a whole Tacoma's worth in mods.

Okay. Let me rephrase that. You can't mod as much.

That one has lights, a rack, an awning. I wouldn't really call that modded. :)

I'm talking things like good suspension. Big tires. Bumpers. Sliders. Those are really hard to find.

To mod or not to mod? That is the question.

Sorry. I'm talking the first one. That's the one I had. Unless those winches are really hidden I don't see them.

I think that question has been answered for most of us . At least for me, in the beginning of every new vehicle, I continue to lie to myself and say " thus time all I need is .,.." Lol it is what it is . We all have our wants .

    But a great post :).

The winch is on the second one. You would be surprised how many accessories are made specifically made for the Rovers. These rigs are very capable stock, but like everything else those mod bugs will find enough to drain the $$$$ from there wallets :).

It does look a bit funky :). Maybe the owner is more of a Neiman Marcus crawler and was afraid to get the tire's dirty ? Lol

My wife's already questioned how much I'm gonna mod, when I do buy a Taco

When it comes to stereo's, I've always replaced the whole thing, amps and all. Now I just replace the speakers, as they are usually the weakest link

Yeah it all comes down to what you need. Stock Tacoma can go a lot places, tho'. Really depends on the driver if they tear it up or not. I have suspension winch bumpers, set of AT's and MT's, etc on the current truck...and honestly it hasn't gone any more extreme than where I took it when it was bone stock. Actually have backed off a bit of how hard I used wheel it when it was stock, since I don't like to tear it up.

All that stuff can fit in a trailer, think I am at the point I want everything on a trailer so it frees up the truck. Have a popup camper on it now, it just sucks having to tear it all down if you need to run and get something, (and it setups up and tears down in minutes) whether more supplies, a broken down bikes...or just to go out to do general exploring. Nice to have something you can just drop and make into a base camp. I will go to some out of the way places with the truck to camp, however have much more fun with the bike, it is faster, more comfortable, and can get it into some super tight gnarly trails that even the most modded Tacoma can only dream about. Have to spend trophy truck prices to get to that speed and comfort...and still limited because of the size of it.

Attitude is everything.....Who wants one like everyone else has, until I have put my hands on it, Put my mods on it, bonded with it, made it truly mine, given it a name. I am a Tacoholic, Taco Junkie.
The more I interact with it, the more I love it, and its little flaws, well they just part of its character. Do I need help ? probably, but then, I am the Devil !
