This is the best thing you can do. I've always done the same but instinct happened and I swerved. Oh well, can't take it back now and the truck looks great.

Did you get the P-rated or LT load-E? I plan to get the AT3W but can't decide on sidewall rating.

If your driving a US military vehicle and swerve to avoid hitting an animal and you survive. You will receive Article 15 punishment.
I always kept that in the back of my mind, but thought man you must really have to fight that instinct to want to swerve. Fortunately I never had to find out.

You don't even realize it happened when you're driving a 5-ton (M-925). Rabbits disintegrate.

Once a wild Honda Civic playing "Willie The Weaver" around our 55 truck convoy (mandatory quarterly training drive) on a two lane road, leapfrogging us two or three at a time. He misjudged the speed of an oncoming car and swerved back into our formation a little too close to the back of a Deuce two trucks in front of me, then slammed his brakes too hard. The brakes on the truck in front of me were only just starting to grab (air brakes) when the full-size winch went through the back window of the Civc...and into the back seat. The only thing that saved the driver's life was that winch; he'd have gone under the truck and been crunched otherwise.

Dickhead commander tried to Article 15 our truck driver, but the State Troopers and Base IG told him that it was 100% the Civic's fault. Further, they commended the driver specifically for not swerving and shedding speed gradually so as not to dislodge the Civic. Had he locked up his 5-ton, he'd have thrown the Civic and it would have tumbled.

Don't leapfrog convoys on back roads boys and girls.

Did you just tint your fog lights yellow or did you install yellow bulbs/LEDs?

It's possible your seatbelt tensioned. They usually have a mechanical and a pyrotechnic tensioner to pull the belt tight and put you in best possible position to assist your bodies deceleration. 1 or both stages may have deployed, leading to the warning on the dash. Purely speculative...have not really looked into Toyotas restraint systems

Went through 2 Toyota windshields, they suck! 3rd One now is a aftermarket. So far it's been better!
