3rd Gen Owners with King Coilovers

Not sure if Kings changed the standard at some point but I was told the current standard was 14" 600lbs from Kings and that's what I have. I have about 4-5 threads with a 1.25" lift.

 

So how us the ride now compared to stock Sport? Yea, 1.25 to 1.5 is what they are set at out of the box. Guess i will need 8 more turns for 2.25 to 2.5

 

It rides pretty smooth but I have the adjusters and set them all the way soft. I'm guessing for you it'll ride a tad stiffer since you're going up to 2.5" but it'll be better than stock sport regardless.

I haven't gotten mine to try it out or I'd try to give you some help..

 

Get the T-handle. Works a whole lot better than the punch that comes in the kit. You can get it for $30 or something from Kings. Also, have you tried any lube yet? Some use WD40 but I would say use something that won't attract dust later since you really need to clean it off afterwards or else it'll get dirty quick. You'll need to soak it a bit and let it sit, then jack it up and turn.

No problem with front alignment.

 

WD40 and the T-handle.

 

Also...jack the front up and take the load off the shocks.

Nope, won't bend like the included punch. Try it first before using any lube. It might just be what you need.

 

I have the T-handle on the way... will it let you adjust around the remote reservoir fitting? I sure hope so bec I do NOT want to take these damn things off to adjust.

If I want to lower the coilovers before I install them on the truck, will I be able to do it with just the supplied punch and my bare hands? I imagine its easier to turn the collar when lowering it than the other way around, but will i still need a vice to hold the thing in place or should it turn pretty easy so I can just hold the coilover in place with one hand while using the punch and turning the collar with the other...Just trying to figure out if I need to buy any extra supplies before these things show up.
