looking for a head unit that controls ipod

looking for a single DIN head unit that controls an ipod... the audio and power cables all over the place on my current setup sucks ass..especially on the trail with them flopping all over the place

All the alpines that have the iPod cord capability can control an iPod.

 

What set up do you currently have?

 

i have el cheapo kenwood receiver with a Zune MP3 player...soon tho i'll have something with whatever ipod model i choose..i want something thats simple and seamless with the ipod

budget!?!....what the hecks that?! i drive a money pit, there is no budget with this thing haha

I just installed a pioneer 4200DVD, ipod hook up is sweet

 

I got the Alpine CDA-105 it has a built in interface and everthing, I paid 155 from Amazon if I remember right. You will need to buy that cable though.

Just ordered one online, I was too looking for a single din deck that would control my ipod, here are some of the reason why I chose Alpine

- charges the ipod when connected
- ease of use
- color screen
- menus are setup like an Ipod
- has red illumination
- last one is kinda bias... been using Alpine ever since

 

pioneer avhp 4100 will do it!

 

That's why I bought Alpine, mine came with everything for my Ipod.

 

I went with a JVC head unit. It has a front USB port for Ipod and Zune plus USB sticks full of musical goodness.

 

I bought a Pioneer (same model as the one JohnnyTaco was selling), simple hook up. Usb'd full control over the iPod. Just plug it in and store in glove box, then enjoy. I lost the remote to it though.

 

alpine cda-9886. had one for a while with no issues, and its relatively cheap its one of the few alpine decks that actually include the ipod cable

this one sounds good..gonna check it since i would like to keep the steering wheel controls

 

FWIW I started with single din and later went to double din. If you have a large library and listen to your ipod the majority of the time, I think you would be FAR more pleased with a double din unit. Makes ipod usage WAY easier IMO.
