Hey Moe, have your considered/researched the possibility of upgrading the sr instrument cluster and replacing it with the one from higher trim trucks?
I am confident that you can do it and share the detailed instructions with the rest of us;-)

Wonder if it's possible. Im sure the cluster is ridiculous expensive and idk what would happen to the mileage. I'd love to have someone else's cluster just to plug it in and see what it would do.

This looks to be the part here? There are two part numbers listed on that site, and I think this might be the one with the MFD.

I would totally do this if it were proven out.

Also found this to eliminate the second cluster part number I found.

Looks like the dealership would need to get involved to program it to read correct mileage, and of course ... to be able to start the truck.

    Hmm,

Why isn't the cluster just an extension of the ECU, you would think they would go to that one day whereas the clusters just the end display unit, the other big thing would be to see if you're pre-wired for the MID display via the steering will controls.

If your not prewired it may not be worth it to try and figure out all the wiring.

    But yeah, a donated cluster from a 2016-17 SR5 4-cyl 5-spd would be a neat little test.

I remember the days of swapping Civic/CRX SI clusters into the lesser model hatches and everything worked, lol... Premium prices were paid for odometers with lower miles too, hahaha

If I could get a donated cluster or one for cheap out of a totaled truck I'd plug it in and give it a try!

While your there grab a totaled Entune radio from a Sienna, lol...

I know you have an aftermarket unit BUT!

In doing lots of research online looking at pictures off eBay and Google and the backs of radios, I believe there are a couple years that the Toyota Sienna basically had the same audio unit that is in the 2016 and 2017 TRD/SR5 trucks. Some with Nav too, but it appears all you have to do is have the bezel to go around it and your radio brackets to mount it and it might be plug-and-play.

If we up with an SR model 2018 DC you better believe I'll be checking this out because those Sienna radios I believe have the same back light color that off blue or whatever in there are a whole lot cheaper all day long when compared to trying to source a Tacoma specific head unit for whatever reason.

Subscribed. Hey Moe did your truck come with NAV? Also I'm going to buy some TRD headlights then do the BHLM Mod to them. Anyway I can get a step by step how you got the lights to work?

How is the bug good reflector? Dose it help? I just did a long road trip and my front even and windshield was covered. Dose the avid Front guard help deflect bugs? Dose it produce any road sounds at high speeds?

No road sounds but does defect stuff up instead of it hitting your windshield. There is definitely a few chips on the bug deflector!

Nice! What brand of deflector do you have? Adhesive or is it a bolt on?
