Ok, so every two years in NJ we have to go throu state inspection. My current inspection is up next month, and I have a dilemma. I have some small stuff that isnt legal, but its easliy reversable to go throu free state inspection.

I can pay $100 for a "legit" sticker through a friend

    OR

I can go back to a legit shop and have my truck emission tested and whatnot, but he looks the other way on the small stuff I have done for a price.:(

Im really not wanting to get a sticker throu a friend, so thats out:rolleyes:

So what would you all do..take a couple of hours and put my truck back to stock and go throu free state inspection, and be able to put 99% of it back on after I get inspected, OR leave it all on and pay for my truck to get inspected at a private shop with the owner looking the other way for a price:(

iunno..Im just tired of dealing with the tint..its such a hassle to get inspected, and its so played out around here anymore its annoying. You see full out soccer moms in mini vans crusing around with tint..blah
Plus, if i scrape the tint and put everythign else back to stock, I can get my windows retinted for $70. Still cheaper then PAYING for an inspection

    Whats the LAW for NJ?

In PA, PennDOT suggest that no tint is lower than 70%. A lot of websites go off of this

The actual statute (law) says you have to be able to see in.

PennDOT interpreted "being able to see in" as 70%.

If your state is anything like mine, they have been cracking down on stations that let things pass, to the point that they completely revoke their license on the third strike.

So, my vote is to follow the laws and dont put anyone at risk to loose their job and/or part of their business, specially with things how they are.
