That is why I go to places who sell and service bikes like that for my inspection. No way they'll bust my balls after I just watched them put a sticker on a straight piped hog that is louder at idle than mine is at full tilt.

 

Here's how to read this:

"Morning all. I took tomorrow off because the wife will be at work. I'll put a video on for the kids to entertain themselves while I install my light bar!!!!!"

Make sure you love it and it's super clean with perfect tires for that money. It's a crazy buyers market right now for bikes. People can't sell anything! Personally I think you should be able to find the big Vulcan for that same money and mileage but I don't know what you are looking for. The small Vulcan is torquey but not fast at all. It's a 4 speed with low HP numbers. You should be able to find the 2000 in similar vintage with similar miles for $3000-3500.

That all depends on what happens today, when I go to the place to get it sandblasted. If they charge me as much or more as the cost of a brand new one which already comes powder coated, then no go. I'll just get it sandblasted and paint it myself with a primer and a rattle can.

True, my neighbor has 2 Harleys, cammed and loud was pipes. His are pretty loud but some guys out there are over the top loud in my opinion as well.

 

Straight pipes are horseshit. Yeah, you are real cool making babies cry as you throttle away from the light. And they don't save lives, not even a little. Luckily it seems actual straight pipes are no longer much of a thing. Even here in live free or die NH I don't see many of them any more. Plenty are still way, WAY too loud, but straight pipes that make your ears bleed thankfully are less popular than they once were.

 

Rob, CO toxic gasses pre converter leaking into the cabin thru open windows or by pressure difference in the cabin. Do you want your kids in the car with toxins getting in. They don't care if it's loud it's the fumes

 

Nothing drives me more nuts. I've mentioned this before but I'm on a corner so bikes either sit and rev or take off at WOT. When I have to pause the TV for 20-30 seconds as you're driving away from my house at 11 PM because I can't hear my TV...

It should not be allowed. When your bike is at the threshold of pain, I know it makes you think you're all big and bad, but it's awful.

 

Agreed. Not a bike, but last night when I was driving home on Rt 3 a Subie passed me with exhaust much louder than my music. And my music is plenty loud inside my truck!

I don't know if it's still the case but there was always threads up on Nasioc about Subarus being pulled over for super loud exhaust and getting tickets by the MSP. Mine was reasonably loud and could be modulated to be quiet which I typically did, but some of these people will run Turbo XS RFL catbacks (RFL stands for really f-ing loud) and just annoy everyone. Since I never had a single issue with my exhaust I can only assume it wasn't too loud.

 

Got hassled all the time for my Nvidia N1 Exhaust thing sounded great

 

Yeah, I remember from my import days that anything N1 was loud. I always tried to go for the quieter end myself.

 

Dropped off the bamf to get sand blasted. Charge by the hour. Would have been more to do it all than what a brand new ones costs, so just sandblasting. $70 for an hour, but said it might not take that long so will only pay for the time.

At auto zone now to buy primer. Filler primer, self etching primer, or primer sealer?

 

Try a 1500 whp streetable gtr with 4inch dual exhausts straight pipes strapped to a dyno cell. We have complaints from the next town over. Not a single fuck was given haha
