Got some new dakar leaf packs delivered today. Now all I need to do is get my kings ordered and decide whether or not I want to return/exchange my built right uca's or just deal with the subpar finish and bolt them suckers on!20170830_212428.jpg

They're just knicked up pretty bad and missing a spot of powder coating on one of the welds. Not a huge deal, but I kinda wanted them pristine for the price i could've spent another 100 and got Camburgs. Also I'm only a novice welder and have no experience with tig, but the welds seem really inconsistent compared to my buddy's tc arms.

I've seen that grille before. Some company mass produces them - I forget who it is.

What's the the difference between cold and hot roll steel? What's better for bumpers? Seems to be a pretty stark price difference. I believe cold rolled is more precise right?

Just for shits and giggles, I decided to daisy-chain a 4 note horn setup I just built for someone on here since I needed to test them. In case you were curious, here is how EIGHT Cadillac horns sound like on a Toyota Tacoma.

I am selling these horn setups, if there is enough interested I will be creating a group buy thread with a discount. Follow the thread here for more info.

    Pics?

For a bumper there's really no difference, CR is "stronger", but the major difference is finish. I wouldn't spend the extra for CR on a bumper.

When steel is hot rolled you get residual stresses in the steel due to rapid cooling (unless its been subsequently stress relieved by reheating and slow cooling). Cold rolling forms the shape at lower temperatures to reduce residual stresses, and a by-product of this is strain hardening of the steel which increases its strength considerably. Part of the difference in cost is the more stringent code/spec that cold roll has to meet (4100/4300 series) compared to hot roll.
For a bumper you're fine with hot roll, as you're more interested in ductility and impact resistance than hardness, tight tolerances, etc. I like using rectangular tubing for bumpers as it's higher strength to begin with unless you special order Grade 50 plate.
