The local LandCruiser chapter on MUD, (and I use the word "chapter" very loosely), may join us next weekend at the Oasis. There are a few guys trying to pump that group up again, and I've suggested for awhile that they should latch on to what you folks have built...

They're welcome to use TW. We have members with F-150s and Dodge Rams...LCs are Toyota products so they're much more "deserving!"

I'm a big fan of rowing your own as well!:fistbump: My mom has an FJ 6spd w/ 250k miles on it and after seeing how well that thing held up, it sold me on the idea of getting a 6spd taco! I've never owned an auto, and I don't think I ever will unless I move to the city and have to city in traffic everyday, and even then it would still only be a maybe.. I learned to drive stick at about 4 years old on my dad's Ford 3910 tractor, and ever since then, its just been second nature to me! Good luck in your search for another truck/taco!

and to piggy back off of this, I am in talks with a guy who is going to do a Group Buy for RTT's. I'm going to copy and paste info.

" It's the exact build and design as the CVT Mt. Shasta Extended Pioneer Gazer . CVT are imported as well and I'm almost positive the tent I'm selling is made in the same factory, the materials and quality are identical (my friend has the CVT). The materials on this tent is excellent and build quality is exactly like the CVT. Parts are identical too so you can swap out parts with CVT/Tepui/ARB/Smittybilt if need be. The design is all the same.

    Details:
Features: Fold out style with over hang extension
    Capacity: 2-3 Person
Tent Material: Heavy Duty 280g poly/cotton Rip-Stop Canvas, 100% Waterproof, Mildew Proof, UV Treated, Wind Resistant
Rain Fly Material: 420d - Durable Polyester Canvas, 100% Waterproof, Mildew Proof, UV Treated, Wind Resistant
    Pole: Aluminum Standard
Base: Light Weight Aluminum with plastic insulation
    Ladder: Aluminum Sliding Ladder
Mattress: High Density Foam Mattress with Washable Cover
Travel Cover: High Quality PVC cover, 100% Waterproof, UV Treated
    Tent Color: Tan
    Rain Fly Cover: Tan

    proxy_8b3c9f728f8aea125fb0569bcec727f4ad51b317.jpg

If I can get atleast 5 people interested I can get the tents down to around $700-$750 each"

So $700-$750 for 5. Last I checked he was at 3 without me. So I wanted to extend this to you guys (Austin Chapter) first before I made it public to the site.
    Let me know!

edit: Also just so you know, they build to order so it will take around 2 to 2.5 months to receive it.

edit 2: At 10 people, the price will be $614 without shipping.
Here are the pictures of the actual tent. https://frangalvez.smugmug.com/RTT-pics. DISCLAIMER: This is actually a 5 person tent, and the pictures are for inspecting quality and materials.

Yeah, I posted a paraphrase of our conversation from last week, when I suggested that we maybe, (totally unofficially, of course), redefine T&T as Toyotas and Tacos, and that you were fine with that, saying all they had to do was "bring something and not be a dick." Let's see what kind of turnout they can drum up; Mrguitarguy01 is in for sure...

That is a ridiculously great price! And based on that pic, it looks almost exactly the same as my cvt! The only real diff i can see is the ladder.

I think this guy is located in California, but since I will be having one sent here, maybe we can do a group shipping to Texas?
He is going to get me a quote to ship to Texas so I will report back.

Interested. I have a shipping dock at my work to make that expense slightly less. Also Fed Ex shipping hub is behind Rudy's in RR, can also make that a pick up point.

I have been looking at the Yakima RTT's. Not sure how well they are built but the price I can get them at is pretty damn hard to beat. I am thankful my GF works in the outdoor industry :D

i can't help but think that some gas stations are pulling some shady shit in order to cash in, 'hopefully', when supplies really do run low and/ or come Friday afternoon when prices start really going up.
