Looks like an aftermarket alarm light.

Then I agree with Elblancotaco... Aftermarket alarm light

Although, I'm curious, what does the spring button on the back do?

I have a similar button on mine.
If I read correctly, it is for a trailer with electric brakes. You press that button to allow power to be sent to the brakes when you're hooked up.
I read that a while back in the owners manual for trucks with the tow package setup.
    Could be wrong though.

Dumb dealer installed alarm that literally does nothing because you didn't pay the $200+ fee to have it turned on when you bought the vehicle... I've got the same BS and my entire wiring harness and fuse box is a rats nest because all they did was use taps to install it and electrical tape which hasn't held up.

That's exactly how I felt about the Karr system which came with my pre-owned truck. It took me two hours to carefully remove it and recrimp the starter wire. I left the taps on after removing one and seeing how it destroyed the wire insulation.

OP follow where those wires go. If it's to a box with three to five harnesses it's likely an alarm system.

Very well could be something else, only way to know would be to follow the wires like @road2cycle stated
