It's not fair at all. I watch alot of car comparisons and I find majority of them are sponsored by one maker. Even my self I can't stand to watch even if it's Toyota only because they will favor Toyota.

    I didn't expect a Silverado...
Maybe if it were a Colorado diesel, there would be hope... not really though.

I remember seeing it done as a teenage back in the old hick farmboy days. Wasn't much else to entertain us back then...

I would imagine these people have the same mentality as 15 year old high schoolers

I think these guys are in Hawaii (servco). There was a cop in there too. Second guy from left with what looks like a thigh holster rig.
I wonder if this is the way they try to "fix" his diff howl. :notsure:

Who wins these 'tug of war' shenanigans actually has nothing to do with torque, since virtually any vehicle has enough torque to break traction on the tires. The only things that matter are:
    -Weight acting on the tires
    -How sticky are the tires
    -Width of the tires

Put some wide drag radials on a Honda Ridgeline and a bunch of cinderblocks in the bed, and I bet it would pull that Silverado around. Would do irreversible damage to the unibody of the Honda, but the idiots that do this clearly don't care about damage to their vehicle.

not sure what else would be expected...

    4500lbs vs 7000+
    ~300 ft/lb vs 900....

If I go pull on a rope with my kids on the other end I always win.

Find a Colorado v. Tacoma video that would be interesting.

    Or a Tundra vs 1500.

That V10 TDI is a torque monster, but I don't think it had much bearing on the outcome. The Touareg V10 TDI weighs almost 3 tons, and was likely equipped with summer performance tires. The truck had beefy A/T tires, which are terrible for traction on pavement. He also was apparently in 2WD, which sealed his fate.

Yep, weight + grip. Torque does nothing if you're spinning out going backwards. Most important mod in motorsports are your tires.
